    Beautiful commune in the province of Sondrio in Lombardy. Great all year around but especially famous for skiing and the baths. Be sure to take a few days to explore the area. Best in July and August.

Description

Bormio is located in the Lombardy Alps in northern Italy, and is a popular ski resort for locals and tourists, primarily Italian. The self-claimed "birth of ski mountaineering" has a popular selection of slopes and is a regular stop on the World Cup circuit, but is also populated by snowboarders and cross country skiers. Aside from its winter sports, Bormio is also known for its natural hot springs and baths that keep those looking for a spa vacation coming here year round. The town has a unique medieval heritage, and is centered around the historic Via Roma and Piazza Cavour.
