    Duck & Waffle

    Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, EC2N 4AY
    0.87 mi from Borough Market
    15 reviews

High up in the Heron Tower in East London, this restaurant is famous for it's stunning views over the city of London. The view alone is worth the visit. The food isn't bad either, and not quite as pricey as you'd think. Open 24hrs, so you can go there for an uber-early breakfast and watch the sunrise.

    Oxo Tower Restaurant

8th Floor, Oxo Tower Wharf, Barge House Street, South Bank, London SE1 9PH, United Kingdom
    0.81 mi from Borough Market
    29 reviews

With banging views taking in the Thames, St Paul’s Cathedral and Somerset House, this is definitely the place to enjoy a sun downer. In fact, with jazz pianists and well executed cocktails there’s nothing not to like at the Harvey Nics run OXO Tower Bar. The decor may be a little bit cruise-ship chic, but sometimes it’s what’s on the ...

Busy, but great lunch, food cooked to order right in front of you. Plenty if seating space upstairs and down. Just grab a card on your way in, charge your order to it and pay on your way out.

This pub (which happens to be my local) is normally PACKED on weekday evenings, but is a great place to grab a spot of dinner if you can get there early enough. They've got amazing burgers, bangers and mash, and my favourite Hoegaarden on tap. They've also got milkshakes and other american-style goodies on the menu, which is a bit ...

    Bermondsey Street Coffee

    0.55 mi from Borough Market
    4 reviews

Sister to the funky Brick Lane location, Bermondsey Street Coffee is my local haunt, just down the road from my flat. Quirky decor, lots of seating, wifi and most importantly, decent coffee. Good place to lounge about on a Sunday.

One of the best Italian restaurants in London. Prices are reasonable, the provenance of the food and the execution of the cooking are fantastic. Excellent wine list and great service. The only drawback is the difficulty in getting a table.

Ever since Spanish chef José Pizarro first opened his tapas bar nearby he's been drawing in the fans. Now he's taken over the previously drab and deservedly shut Bermondsey Kitchen and is shining in the light he deserves. Fantastic, if a little pricey, wine list to accompany, including perhaps the broadest range of cavas I've seen anywhere in London.

Quirky malaysian restaurant on a side street in Burough. The atmosphere is intimate. The food is imaginative and well presented. Malaysian based with influences from other southeast asian countries. As a snack they serve grilled flat bread with a dipping sauce of olive oil and soy odd but surprisingly good combination. Book in advance as it's quite small and ...

Itsux. The fish in the sushi has probably never even touched the sea. Even its convenience to the office won't tempt me to make the fatal error of stepping in again. The Japan Centre next door is just as bad.

Love the industrial-historic vibe of this neighbourhood spot in Bermondsey. I went here for brunch and loved it. In a cute part of town not far from London Bridge or Borough Market, the surrounding area is perfect for a stroll through shops afterwards. We had the bacon, avocado and chili jam sandwich and the turkey has -- both absolutely delicious.

One of my favourite pubs in London. They've got an incredibly impressive selection - Over 60 beers to choose from including micro brews from the US, UK, all over Europe and even as far afield as Australia. Excellent (but slightly pricey) food as well.

As you emerge from the stunning Richard Rogers designed Southwark tube station Baltic is just over the road, hidden behind huge gates. You can have a vodka in the bar which is tastefully dark and mysterious and then walk into the white, light tranquil restaurant. Not only is the design stunning but, the food is wonderful. Baltic serve, ahem, baltic ...

Nice coffee spot near Angel - it has free wifi which annoyingly expires, but is still free and one of the easier spots to stop for some caffeine and internet in the area.

I really expected a lot more of this place. I love BBQ and as an American from the South I know good BBQ when I taste it. This is a partnership between Jamie Oliver and Adam Perry Lang, a NYC chef. Baby back rib starter was super yummy. The rest was good but not super great.
