The home to the Danish stock market for a few hundred years starting in the 1600s! The most notable feature of this beautiful building is the tower with four intertwined dragons tails.

The spire of the former stock exchange is made up of four dragons, with their tails intertwining up the spire. The building currently functions as a chamber of commerce.

The Børsen housed the Danish stock market for almost 230 years. The building is beautiful. The central spire is the tail of four dragons intertwined.

Description

Explore the first preserved building in Denmark that many locals claim is protected from fire and enemies by its spire. Commissioned by King Christian IV in the 1600s to establish Copenhagen as a financial center, trading market and wharf for Danish and foreign merchants, the Børsen (Stock Exchange) building sits on a filled-in water foundation. Chamber of Commerce currently owns the property. Børsen’s assembly rooms are rented out for exhibitions, conferences and parties. Marvel at the Børsen’s landmark 184-foot spire, encircled by a sculpture of dragons with long spiraling tails and three crowns, representing the countries Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
