    Top of the Hub

800 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02199
    17 reviews

Reminds me of the Willis Tower in Chicago.... only it's less touristy. If you are heading to the bar then you don't have to pay to go up. Live jazz on Monday night's! I came right when the twilight hit. Night views are gorgeous but nothing beats the twilight views!

    Deep Ellum Bar

477 Cambridge St, Allston, MA 02134
    2 reviews

Sorry, my cocktail-nerd is showing. I’ll be sure to cover up, but not until I moan a little about the Oaxacan Rose, a piquant blend of Mezcal, citrus, and bitters. The Aperol Fizz is a lighter, fun diversion, but don’t mess around with the Mexican Happy Meal. The space is intimate and romantic, and there’s a lovely outdoor seating area ...

Alibi Bar & Lounge at Liberty Hotel

215 Charles St Boston, MA 02114
    6 reviews

Alibi lounge is a great place to go to hang out with friends or mingle outside your crowd. The lounge is located on the first floor of Liberty Hotel. The hotel used to be a prison in the early 1900s and now it's a trendy hotel that inherited some historic decor: catwalks, prison bars, and brick foundation. Fun fact: Malcolm ...

    Phoenix Landing

512 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139

Fun scene, cheap drinks, and packed to the walls with Cambridge college folk, Phoenix Landing is also right across from The Middle East, famous for its live music shows every night of the week. Great for meeting other students!

    The Whiskey Priest

150 Northern Avenue, Boston, MA, United States
    4 reviews

It’s your typical Irish pub, but its location overlooking the Harbor makes this place notable. The walls are lined with windows, lending an open, airy feel and providing sweeping views. (Not that you’ll have much space or time for gazing, when the place gets packed on weekend nights.) True to their Irish roots, they’ve got largest selection of whiskey in ...

    The Beehive

    541 Tremont Street, Boston, MA
    8 reviews

One does not simply walk to The Beehive. There isn’t public transportation very close by, so unless you live in the area, a cab might be your best bet. But there isn’t a better place to be buzzed on Tremont Street. While the upstairs is small and quaint, a plush stairway takes you to a new world below; a world ...

    Sunset Grill & Tap

130 Brighton Ave, Allston, MA 02134

Largest selection of beers on the east coast, with 112 on tap. ‘Nuff said. But really, a mecca for students.

    Eastern Standard Kitchen

    3 reviews

Eastern Standard Kitchen is a Boston landmark, and rightly so. The space is modeled after an old train station, lending a sweet air of reminiscence in sepia tones and gleaming leather seating. But don’t go for nostalgia, go for the food and drink: Brunch is spectacular, and the extensive cocktail menu could keep a former (or current!) English major reading ...

    Emerald Lounge

    200 Stuart Street, Boston, MA
    1 review

Storybook swank meets Beantown beauty. Inspired by the Wizard of Oz, Emerald promises sleek scenery, eerily cool lighting, just enough kitsch, and not enough hours in a Boston night. The music is typically upbeat house, perfect for dancing. As for the drinks, I'm enchanted with the Lavender Sparkler, but they also make a wicked Manhattan. The service is some of ...

10 Bosworth St, Boston, MA 02108
    6 reviews

Their happy hour is solid - $1.50 oysters and discounted drinks from 6-7 and 9-10pm! The oysters are super fresh and the drinks are very good. The ambience is also very romantic. This is the perfect place for a date or girls night out!

1525 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02118
    3 reviews

One of my favorite memories of Boston includes a wonderful pear martini, delicious gnocchi and a beautiful setting. It was at Stella, a lovely Italian restaurant in the South End of Boston where I experienced this. While the prices were a bit high ($19 for the gnocchi alone) and the portions didn't impress, I still had a great time overall.

    Pour House

907 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02115

Not the sparkliest establishment on the list, but who cares? It’s your quintessential Boston bar, with your rowdy Pats fan sudsing with Bud and Suffolk girls downing vodka sodas. There’s no cover, and it’s a quick and easy stumble to an assortment of other Irish pubs and bars. Downtown for college students.

    The Burren

247 Elm St, Somerville, MA 02144

I liked this bar. The live music was fun and the crowd was a good mix of people. The drinks are nothing to write home about but the beer selection is pretty nice.

    Border Cafe

32 Church St, Cambridge, MA 02138
    11 reviews

Border Café is one of the few Mexican restaurants in the Harvard Square area. As such, there is usually a decent wait to get a table on most nights. The food is not really authentic Mexican; it has more of a Tex Mex flair to it. I really like their salty chips (which come free with salsa) and homemade guacamole, ...

    Atlantic Fish Company

    3 reviews

This place has some yummy seafood. We wanted to eat some quality seafood. This place has some great seafood. We ordered the cioppino and the seafood platter. I misjudged the amount of food that we ordered. This was a good problem. The New England Lobster Feast is a huge platter of a steamed lobster served with clam chowder, mussels, steamers, ...

Great for a group, best hamburger I've ever had and I wasn't even expecting that. Great food choices to mix and match along with the fun drinks. Staff is usually pretty fun too.

    Sunset Cantina

916 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA 02215

I came here a lot during my senior year, and always enjoyed their margaritas (not to mention their AMAZING chips and salsa). They've got a sister (brother?) location in Allston called Sunset Bar & Grill and Big City, which also has an impressive beer-on-tap offering.
