    Mike's Pastry

    49 reviews

So while the munchkin and I were trapsing around Beantown and the surrounding area, something caught my attention. It was this dorky blue and white donut box being carried by tons and tons of people. It had a twine closure on it that everyone used as a handle. You literally couldnt help but notice this "advertising" everywhere. So as we ...

    Modern Pastry

I stumbled upon this place while looking for Mike's Pastries. Who knew they were so close together? I know this is little Italy and you're supposed to get Italian things like the cannoli's and tiramisu, but I ended up with red velvet. Hey, blame me ... I didn't really read up on this place thoroughly so perhaps next time (if ...

When you are in Boston, stop by this little bakery and pick up my favorite cannoli, I prefer the basic ricotta with powdered sugar -- it is a crispy classic. Bring and home and enjoy with a nice cup of iced coffee on our upstairs deck.

    Maria's Pastry Shop

I consider this place one of the best kept secrets in Boston. I'd rather get cannolis here than at Mike's or Modern any day. Plus the cookies and other delicacies never fail to delight.

    Sweet Cupcakes

    4 reviews

Sweet Cupcakes is a very popular place, with their huge variety of regular and mini cupcakes. Although the frostings are creamy and delicious, the cake part is a little dry. I do like their choice of Izze and other unique sodas though.

Stopped for a cup of coffee and a strudel on a very windy day at this lovely small cafe. The place is quite small so had a bit of trouble in fitting in as I had my heavy duty camera case with me. Coffee and service were great as was the strudel. There is a nice view from the terrace ...

Love love this bakery. Walking into Tous Les Jours is like walking into a bakery art museum accompanied by extraordinarily tempting smell, it's filled with amazing mousse and cake creations that's so gorgeously designed and plated. Almost too pretty to eat! The rest of the bakery is also filled with goodies, chocolate croissants, mocha creme breads, and milk buns are ...

Appleseed is located in the Burlington Mall food court, but the crepes here are so unique and tasty! So far I've tried their Atlantic tuna and smoked salmon crepes, as well as the dessert crepe. They were all amazing. I'll have to say their flavors made a bigger impression on me than the crepes I had in a high end ...

Hands down the best place for preserved egg and minced pork congee. The really get it right, the softness of the rice, the consistency of the soup, they put some kind of spices inside the congee as well besides the usual ingredients of rice, scallion, preserved egg and pork - it really adds a pop to the flavor. Their buns ...
