    Taiwan Cafe

34 Oxford St, Boston, MA 02111
    4.5
    4 reviews

If Boston Chinatown is anything like San Francisco Chinatown, I should expect mediocre Americanized Taiwanese food. When my friends suggested going to Chinatown during my Boston trip I was a bit hesitant. I am very picky when it comes to Chinese food. I was totally ready to leave this place in disappointment. For dinner of 3 we had ordered way ...

This is a spot to know about. A discrete store front in Chinatown, you do not know what you have discovered until the menu comes and you want one of each.

For some AMAZing quality meat (lamb, beef, short ribs) - Kaze Shabu Shabu is the place to be, hands down the best Shabu place in the Boston area. Located in Boston Chinatown, Kaze Shabu Shabu is an extremely popular shabu place for the locals. The usual shabu process goes as follows - choose one (or two) broth(s), choose an entree ...

    Hot Pot Buffet

    2 reviews

Value above all else! There is nothing that can satisfy a hotpot craving on a cold winter day more than this $20/per person hotpot buffet. The selection of meat, seafood, veggies, and miscellaneous other foods is incredible. The broths are very savory and good enough to drink after a meal. The quality can't be compared to Kaze and Shabu around ...

Only the greatest Asian fusion restaurant in Boston. Duh. It's Flour Bakery's Joanne Chang and her husband Christopher Myers' wonderful love-child-restaurant. It's also located in my ~favorite~ neighborhood in Boston the South End!

    Taam China Restaurant

Did you know that kosher Chinese restaurants even existed? I didn't! But it was great to have an option aside from the typical kosher delis when a Jewish friend came to visit. The food is good, and typical for an American Chinese restaurant (just don't look for the pork dishes) and the service was very friendly. Great location on Harvard ...

Their dumplings here are excellent, but don't expect ANY service at all here. Food wise, they serve a lot more than just dumplings, you can find many variety of eateries from casual snacking (xiao long bao) to a full blown meal Chinese meal with a Taiwanese twist. We got the pork and leek steamed dumplings and Taiwanese pan fried dumplings, ...

    Kowloon

    2 reviews

This massive restaurant--make that complex, restaurant isn't even the right word--can hold 1,200 diners. 1,200! Three generations have been serving Chinese, Thai, and Japanese food since the 1950s, adding a tiki lounge, comedy club, and numerous other rooms along the way. The decor is tacky and the food arrives unbelievably quickly, but it's still some of the best Chinese food ...

    Dragon Light Restaurant

226 Washington St, Gloucester, MA 01930

Dragon Light is the best Chinese food in Gloucester, not that there is much from which to pick. But their large portions, fast service, and great fried rice make this a decent take-out option every once in a while. The only strange thing: they serve bread and butter with their meals. A first at a Chinese restaurant for me.

    Hei La Moon

Popular dim sum spot in Chinatown. The Dim Sum is pretty good, the usual variety of shrimp dumplings, shu mai, congee at a fairly cheap price ($25 for 2 people). They are very busy on the weekends. The service isn't the warmest, at the end of each service period, they stop coming around unless you ask for the carts.

The Buddha's Delight in Coolidge Corner was my favorite restaurant when I lived in Boston a few years ago, but since that's closed In the interim, I had to go here when I was just in town. The name has actually changed to My Thai Cafe, and the numbers on the menu have shifted, but it's the same place. The ...

One of the Vietnamnese restaurants in the line of restaurants in Chinatown. The service was great, nice and friendly, and also fairly fast. My pho tai was pretty tasty but not as steaming hot as I would have liked it (I take my beef rare on the side so I need it to cook). If you are looking forward to ...
