A friend of mine decided to have a birthday lunch here at Bottega. We were a group of 10 and so we got to sit in their semi-private wine room. The service and the food here was very good. I really enjoyed their Grilled Shortrib Meatballs (appetizer) and the Smoked & Braised Natural Short Ribs (main dish). The meatballs had a nice sweet, savory, and crunchy mix to it. The braised short ribs were so tender it just melts in your mouth!

I couldn't contain my excitement in trying this place after hearing about Michael Chiarello on Top Chef Masters and Best Thing I Ever Ate, but indeed this place is pretty legit. I was however, a bit ticked off they still made us and others wait an additional 30 minutes even with reservations. What's the point of having a reservation then right? But the staff was very apologetic and their service did make up for it so I won't bitch too much about it. Big time sad face though for them not having their Pork Belly and Egg Confit. It's seasonal so I hope they bring it back. We started off our meal with the Brussels Spouts Salad, big mistake, don't get it. It was like eating grass. Do however, get the Braised Beef Rib and Dungeoness Crab. It's like heaven in your mouth. The beef broke apart so easily with my fork because it was that tender, a bit of fat marbled in it, and topped off with some spinach. I was expecting a few crab legs for $29 bucks but to my surprise, we got a whole crab, which was very impressive for fine dining. It was cooked in this marvelous butter and herb sauce and came with toasted bruschetta with cheese. If my stomach could talk, it would say, "thank you for feeding me that!" A perfect way to end is with their Chocolate Souffle with hazelnut creme sauce poured on top at your table. Good eats, and not outrageous prices for a fancy place. Pair your meal up with a nice glass of wine. Their quartino is equal to 1 1/2 glass and can be shared between two people! 4.5 stars.

This is Chef Michael Chiarello's restaurant in yountville. I had a wonderful lunch here. The food is delicious. My favorite is Polenta underglass and pork belly confit which is by the way featured on Foodnetwork's "The best thing I ever ate" salty goodness episode by Tyler Florence.

Michael Chiarello has created a dynamite Italian restaurant in the middle of Yountiville, at the back of the Vintage 1870 complex. The food here is delicious, the service is excellent, and the decor is interesting. In nice weather, there are outside tables with outside fireplaces that make it a great place to hang out. If you can't get a reservation here, it may be worth dropping by to see if you can get a drop-in seat at the bar.
Love the food here. Different, delicious, and many of the best and unique dishes have their recipes in Mr. Chiarello's cookbook, Bottega. Polenta (with wild mushrooms, served in a jar), Brussel Sprout Salad (cold, shaved sprouts with marcona almonds and a lemon vinaigrette), and Zinfandel Spaghetti (par-boiled, then finished in reduced wine, with rapini) are all just friggin' awesome.

Chef Michael Chiorello has delivered a swanky and delicious Italian restaurant. The quality of the food at this rustic Italian ristorante is the hallmark of a much higher price level (you will run about 50 bucks a person if you have wine, though). All of the pasta dishes are flavorful and fantastic, the meat is tender and savory, and the appetizers are all worth trying.
On my last experience eating here, I had the pleasure of being served by a seasoned, friendly and hilarious waiter who made the experience that much more amazing.
There may be a long wait, so be sure to make a reservation in advance (especially on a weekend night).
