If you're like me, not big into crowds, nightlife, or parties, and are only in the French Quarter for the architecture and the history, visit Bourbon Street in the morning/early afternoon. You'll skip the rowdiness that way.

Didn't drink here but I got to enjoy the look and feel of this bar on a wednesday night (not super busy). According to one of my close friend, she had the most amazing time here lol I think everyone should check this place out. Creative decor on the ceiling, spacey and outdoorsy. Digging the dual piano bar!

Sure, it's touristy, but it's one of the most fun things to do in New Orleans. Just try to listen to the Dixieland jazz without tapping your toes. Plus, it's open to all ages and the shows aren't too long, so it's a great place to bring kids in the evening.

The carousel shaped bar was pretty awesome but other than that, it's just a hotel bar.

Bourbon St. bars are not my fave, but this one is a classic...renown for their hand grenade drink. Don't ask me what's in them...I may never know, but I suggest getting it frozen - not just mixed with ice. Their balcony gives a great view of Bourbon Street.

My favorite place in New Orleans for a drink is the Bourbon Pub. On the corner, open air, and it's fun to order a drink and then watch the tourists walking down the street, checking out the French Quarter, and see how long it takes them to realize the Bourbon Pub is a gay bar as they walk by and ...

There's a New Orleans I've dreamed of visiting as a kid, full of good food, soulful music, romantic courtyards and flickering street lamps. Then there's Bourbon St. Comprised mostly of tacky bars, strip clubs and souvenir stores, this neon mess could make Las Vegas blush. It's a messy frat party—great, if that's your thing—but you can't escape the disgustingly sugary ...

The Old Absinthe House is a great place to go to have a drink and watch the crowds go by in the French Quarter. The building is over two hundred years old, and the rumor is that Jean Lafitte and General Andrew Jackson met at this spot to prepare and plan for the British invasion.

The dungeon is a rock bar in a basement that we've been to a few times and I got a tee from a few years back. The drinks are strong and the decor is awesome but I feel bad for the fish that have to sit in a smoke filled bar in a dark alley. Overall I love it though ...

    3 reviews

Separate bar with beautiful wooden columns and an intimate setting with live accoustic music and of course great food provided by the chef next door (try the sampler - delicious and plenty for two). Excellent place to start off a night of pub crawling and live jazz and a less expensive way to sample Antoine's legenday food.
