A city which I grow bored quite easily. It lacks the typical European grandeur and style. I must say the city looks flat and can be considered as "too modern" from what I have anticipated. Just hope the mountain high tatras area of Slovakia can wow me with her blessed natural beauty.

Bratislava is my hometown and I love mainly the Old City. The dominant feature is the Castle that sits on the hill over the city.
I think you could use this free online guide in English to help you find the perfect spots in Bratislava :)

This was a nice stop on our way from Vienna to Budapest. The town center was very active with a number of nice restaurants and shops. We only stopped for lunch and a walk around the town so we would definitely like to come back and spend some more time here.

Bratislava is the largest city in Slovakia. It is a perfect place for a day trip from Vienna as most historical sites can be seen in that time. Its winding alleys and cobblestone streets lead you to some of the most interesting sites such as the Opera House and the Bratislava Castle. Old Bratislava is a great walking city! Only an hour away from Vienna via Danube River.
DO: Check out Bratislavský hrad - Bratislava Castle and Hlavné námestie (Main Square)
EAT: Miešany Mäsovy Tanier- a mixed meat platter (chicken, veal and pork) and potato dumplings in a delicious buttery tomato concoction and their national dish, Bryndzové halušky (potato dumplings with sheep's-milk cheese).
