Sugar Loaf Mountain (Pao de Acucar)

    73 reviews

One of the must go to places in Rio. The earlier you go the better, it becomes very crowded sometimes. An alternative is to do it with one of the tour groups, they know the ropes. Very close to the entrance is a lovely small beach, the Red Beach. There is also a very beautiful walking trail at the end ...

Didn't find any Leblon Cachaca here! Oh, oops that's probably a brand that's sold in the States! This beach is a lot more low key, housing may be cheaper here as well. Ideal spot for seclusion.

The city’s gorgeous municipal market, set in an iconic block-long Belle Époque beauty of stained glass and skyward domes, is first and foremost a food-centric market where chefs, foodies, restaurateurs and hungry mouths converge over exotic fruit samples, traditional street food (pastels, stuffed and fried pastries of dubious Japanese descent), herbs and spices the world over and one of Sampa’s ...

    Maracanã Football Stadium

The great temple to the beautiful game will play a starring role later this year in the FIFA World Cup. Even if you can't make it to the final (which will take place here on July 13), it's well worth paying a visit to the hollowed football (soccer) arena, which is looking better than ever following a US$500 million renovation ...

This is the place for oriental products in São Paulo. Arrive by the Metrô or be prepared to pay expensive parking fees. Tip: During weekends there are several parkings in Galvão Bueno street priced R$10 for the whole day. (This is the price for half hour during the week.)
