- Bright Angel Lodge and CabinsOct 18, 2013
If you're looking to stay right on the rim of the Grand Canyon, these historic national park cabins are a good bet for families. Wake up before down, and you can walk right out of your cabin to catch sunrise breaking over the canyon's wonderland of buttes. Rooms in the lodge are pretty bland, however, so make sure you get a cabin when making reservations (which you should do as far in advance as possible, especially during summer).

Bright Angle Lodge and Cabins is a perfect home homebase for exploring the Grand Canyon. It sits near the edge of the rim and at the start of the Bright Angel Hiking Trail.
The facilities include single rooms with shared bathrooms and shower facilities, cabins with built in bathrooms and suites (like the Buckey O'Neill suite which is a wonderful way to live).
We stayed during December and had a great time. We had no problems with the shared bathrooms or showers (though I can see how it could be during the popular summer months). The room was clean and included a sink so we can brush our teeth without having to trek down the hall.
We also stayed one night in the Buckey O'Neill suite, a historical landmark that sits right near the edge of the canyon. You walk out the door and you get a spectacular view. Make sure to keep the door locked because people will try to come in and check it out.
The lodge also had a decent and affordable restaurant and the prerequisite gift shop. Wifi is available in the main lobby.Recommended for:History Buffs
