An icon of London, although it looks strange to me since they removed the microwave dishes. Sadly it is no longer possible to access the viewing gallery and the revolving restaurant at the top went out of business long ago.

Rich, chocolatey coffee without a hint of bitterness, courtesy of Square Mile beans and a deft barista touch. Service is friendly, and I hear the pastries are delicious. I saw the Portuguese egg tarts almost sell out...they appear to be the dessert to get!

Lantana is an aussie cafe that has delicious coffee, friendly staff and wonderful food. It's quite busy at lunch time and it can be tough to get a seat, so come early. If you're a fan of Lantana, head to their sister cafe Salvation Jane in Shoreditch as well.

Vegetarians and low-fat devotees need not visit. This Argentine steak house (a small chain, mostly based in London) has over a dozen different types of steaks and cuts, along with all things South American and beef-related: empanadas, ceviche, etc. Be warned: It's about £100 per person, minimum, and the noise levels are high.

Might be the place that turned me onto tapas. The space is nice - try to sit on the main floor, not downstairs - and the food is simple, straight forward with good variety. It's close to the office and is also a great place for a glass of wine and a bite before a full dinner.

Cozy restaurant a few steps away Oxford Circus, serving breakfast all day. Ideal for Sunday Brunch. Vintage decoration and perfect service. No need to queue at midday on Sunday, which is a strong value added in London! Pancakes with berries and cream are amazing!

This is an excellent casual thai restaurant on Charlotte Street in London. I stayed at the Charlotte Street hotel for business a few times, and went here for dinner at least twice per visit. The space inside is very small, so at peak times you may have to wait for a table, but the food is great. Is is gourmet ...

Fantastic Japanese food in Fitzrovia. Plates are small but delicious. Get the tempura, which is light and flavourful. Also - come early for dinner - if you order by 7, you get 30% off your food.

The food is okay, but really not worth the prices that they charge. It's always ridiculously crowded and it feels sort of like being shoved into a really crowded middle school cafeteria. I don't think it's worth going unless you're starving and you want to sit down somewhere and order from a menu. The food isn't disappointing, just over priced ...

The food here is incredible. Meat, cheese, deep fried pickles. And what a treat to have such a comprehensive list of Malbec wines to go with all that meat. This is how I imagine a really good burger bar in the States would be. Sometimes eating a bit of the filling before attempting to lift a steak sandwich to your ...

15/20; Food: 8/10, Ambience 4/5, Service 3/5. Down a dingy alleyway and down some funky steps is the original Hakkasan. Food is very good, no doubt. Early stalwart in Asian fusion and still very popular. Decor is funky opium den meets basement meets buzzing restaurant. Bit too noisy to have a proper conversation, which I find irritating, but otherwise great. ...

It is trendy and serves authentic Thai dishes that are delicious! Its interior lighting allows for a perfectly serene ambiance. The service is consistently inattentive. The 'guava Bellini' is a treat, the sparkling sake too sweet.

Started with drinks on the top floor. Unusual and dangerously tasty cocktail menu. For dinner, we sat at the bar and got a wide selection of the small plates. Each one was beautifully prepared, wait staff was excellent, and the food was the best we had in London.

The closest you are going to get to real Mexican food in London. Not amazing, but if you really have the craving this is the spot.
