Brown TLV is a very cool hotel. It's like a breath of fresh air in a gritty, urban part of town. There aren't any views to speak of, but the warmth of the hotel is infectious. The theme of the hotel is vintage 70's and the overall color pattern is - you guessed it - brown! It's like walking into your grandma's house in the 70's, but with great, modern touches. There's coffee, tea and sweet treats available throughout the day in the lounge. The staff was courteous and generous, offering Cava to all their guests upon arrival. The design of the rooms match the rest of the hotel. The beds are so comfortable that one of the staff members bought one from the same company. The rooftop lounge area is beautiful and has a jacuzzi, a bathtub and showers. Another neat thing about the Brown TLV is that the art, cookies and chocolates are all from local artists and artisans.

This newish hotel is a swanky and urban addition to the Tel Aviv's upscale boutique hotels. The rooms are on the small side, but there's lots of other spaces where you can sprawl out - on the roof, overlooking the city or on the ground level's hip astro-turf garden or in their 70s styled "living room" lobby. The brown theme is a bit heavy handed, but fans of retro aesthetics will appreciate the vibe and the giant blow up of a 1970s playboy cover (sans nudity) on the wall across from reception. Though they don’t have a restaurant (yet), there are many great café’s in the neighborhood – and they have a breakfast deal with some of them so you can eat nearby for free. A unique and groovy place to stay, close enough to the beach to walk, though not immediately on the water but closer to the interesting attractions of Nachalat Binyamin and Shuk HaCarmel.Recommended for:Trendsters
