Despite the particularly unattractive façade of the hotel, the Brunelleschi manages to offer rooms with their own charm. Somehow, despite the fact that they seem a patchwork of colours, they have the weird power of brightening your day. Probably, it is because they look like they have been assembled by a hyperactive five-year-old boy and the realization of it all brings a smile on your lips. At the same time, because of the thick curtains, small windows and particularly heavy furniture a slight feeling of claustrophobia is not impossible after a while. Incredibly, even though the hotel is close to the busy city centre, nevertheless, it manages to offer a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. One of the best things about the position of the Brunelleschi is that is ridiculously close to the Metro station. A sign can be seen from your window if you get one overlooking the right direction.

Looking at this hotel from outside was a bit unsettling. If you arrive and think that you have to spend a few days in this place, the very first impression is not exactly the best one you can get. It looks more like a factory or a block of offices. But, what you have to know about Milan is that the exterior is basically never a good parameter to judge the interior. In fact, inside you can find some really colourful rooms and marble bathrooms that give you the impression of being a very stylish place. Another remarkable thing is that it is pretty big, and when I say big I mean that the rooms are spacious and you have enough space not to bump into the other guests – which is not something that should be taken for granted in Milan – and for me, that is certainly a plus.
