I was tipped off to this TriBeCa gem by a friend on Gogobot, and ended up coming here twice on my last trip to NYC! Despite the name, Bubby's does not serve anything you would expect to be served by your (or anyone else's) Jewish grandma. The food is southern style - BBQ, Okra, Mac & Cheese, Burgers - prepared really nicely and served in big portions. We went for dinner one night and had BBQ ribs (delicious) and the meatloaf (good, but not mind-blowing), served with sides of mac & cheese, collard greens and spinach and corn bread. We were told to try the burgers but didn't do it. Bubby's is famous for its pies, and we did a blueberry pie that was out of this world. We went back on Sunday for brunch and got a smoked salmon plate and blueberry pancakes - both of which was awesome (although our server was a bit of space cadet). Overall great atmosphere and very kid friendly.Recommended for:

Great for round the clock comfort food, Bubby's is famous for their delicious pie, but there are tons of other great things to enjoy and the extensive menu is pretty certain to have something for everyone on it. Highlights include the sourdough pancakes and Caesar salad and the veggie burger is a great option as well.Recommended for:

A slice of the country in TriBeCa. Great sandwiches, salads, burgers, etc...Though I'm not the star struck sort...I've seen more celebrities here then anywhere else...More importantly save room for pie...they have amazing pies! Strawberry Rhubarb and the Cherry are my favorites...Tell Vinny I say helloRecommended for:

My favorite TriBeCa brunch spot. Good farm to table-esque versions of American favorites (w/ a little TexMex thrown in as well). I think the bloody mary's are the best in the city (good combination of tart and spicey).
The lines can get pretty long after 11:30 on a weekend (sometimes earlier) so you may want to plan in advance.Recommended for:

This has always been my favorite brunch spot in Tribeca. Expect a long wait on the weekends. I love the buttermilk biscuits. Good place to nurse a hangover and people watch. On the last visit I spotted Lenny Kravitz and some of the cast from Gossip Girl.

BUBBY'S!! I love it here. Their biscuits might be the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. My friend accidentally grabbed mine instead of hers and I almost pushed her out of her seat. Woops.
The brunch is fantastic - the Huevos Rancheros are amazing. I also recently had the nachos while sitting at the bar with a friend and they were equally great. I made friends with the bartender after I realized the music in the place was his awesome personal playlist - I mean, how often do you hear Frank Ocean in a restaurant?! Very exciting stuff. Good thing one of my BFFs is moving right next door... I'll be back often!

HOLY PANCAKES! Also, the monte cristo sandwich served on french toast bread with cranberry and mustard sauce was the best sandwich I have ever had. Come here for brunch, enjoy a cocktail and be prepared to have your taste buds blown away!

Could be my favorite restaurant in Manhattan (bold statement, I know). Fabulous comfort food - all locally sourced - that puts other places to shame and has garnered praise from not only me but Michael Pollan. Cozy and comfortable, homemade sodas, and delicious pies... really can't sing enough praise of this place. And i don't think i'm alone - there's normally a crowd here for brunch. If you don't want to brave the crowds, this is also a great place for a Sunday night dinner - but beware, you'll want a nap afterward.
