I love Stone Town. The culture, the food, the architecture is all so exotic. I have been to Zanzibar many times and have started forgoing the beaches in lieu of staying in Stone Town. The Night Market and its Zanzibar pizzas are a real highlight for me, as is wandering the maze-like alleyways and exploring the local market.

Nungwi is the village and northernmost beach on Zanzibar. It is a popular stop for backpackers, as there is a vibrant nightlife scene and plenty of inexpensive accommodation. There are several restaurants, some fun and funky bars, SCUBA and fishing outfitters, a natural aquarium, and long stretches of white sand.

Beautiful beaches on the east side of Zanzibar. The beaches are cleaner here as the seaweed is farmed and tied down. When the tide goes out (on the east side the tide goes out at least a 500m) the neat little quilts of seaweed patches are uncovered.
