One of the "must see" place in London. It has a lot of good history. The Buckingham palace tour was well worth going to.

the royal family residence. THE royal family residence, of course this is a must visit when visiting London. The building itself has gone through bombings and cheers and see so many faces of Londoners and visitors cheering and hailing to the past Kings and Queens. So much wonderful history and stories.

At the end of the Mall - where Queen Liz lives. One of the places you'll probably regret NOT visiting. It is worth it, though you can only look through the railings. There is a museum there though, which does sometimes have great exhibitions on.

Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch and is one of the most beautiful palaces in the world. Make sure to watch the changing of the guard and see how the guards really are stiff and will not move from their post! The Palace truly is a symbol of the British monarchy and stands the test of time and history!

I still don't get the hype. The building itself is impressive, but nothing remarkable. The tour was a bit too long for me and actually got somewhat monotonous after a while.

Home of the Queen (or one of the many at least), and an iconic part of London and it's vast history. If you can make it there for the changing of the guard you're in for a treat, and if you can catch London on a rare sunny day, it makes it even more radiant. St James' park is right next to the palace, so come with a picnic and make a day of seeing the sights.

It's a must-see when in London - no explanation needed. It's pretty boring from the outside, except for the guards which somehow manage to be a source of endless entertainment even though they do absolutely nothing. From the inside however, you really get to see the beauty of it - the luxury and history.

How often to do you get to go into a real palace where a queen lives. So, when Buckingham is available you need to go. We went to see Kate's wedding dress and cake. Make a reservation beforehand otherwise you have to stand in a long line just to get your tickets. The place is impressive considering the history behind the place. A must see.

Also, not nearly as impressive as I had anticipated. Fairly plain looking for a palace, at least from the outside. Neat to see the guards marching about in person though.

It is best to go to see the change of the guard, I unfortunately missed it, but you can still visit, although there is not much to see other than the building itself and, of course, everything it represents.

Buckingham Palace is not quite as recognizable as the Houses of Parliament but it's certainly as important and as famous. Royal family enthusiasts should head here, the official residence of the reigning monarch. Each day at 11 AM the changing of the guard is greeted by much fanfare.
