Marxims has some of the best pizza in Budapest...and you get to enjoy it while staring at Communist memorabilia plastered across the walls. It's a dive joint with barbed wire running across the tops of crowded booths, but there's nothing intimidating about this place. The pizza is fantastic, and comes with a jar of addictive sauce you can spoon onto ...Popular withStudentsFoodiesBudget

Really nice little restaurant/cafe. If you're sitting outside on a colder day theres blankets around the chairs to put round you, which is nice as it's a shame to miss out on fresh air. Some really nice Hungarian dishes. I had the beef stew (cheapest thing on the menu) and it filled me up nicely and tasted lush.Popular withFoodiesBudgetBackpackers
I went to Mokka Cafe & Restaurant in Budapest this summer while touring downtown Budapest with my family. It was truly a first-class dining experience. The steak was rare, as I requested, and the quality of the product was fantastic. One member of our party tried the lobster and she reported it was great as well. The service was attentive ...Popular withFamilies
Very nice atmosphere with great traditional Hungarian dishes. Those who prefer to eat non-Hungarian dishes will be satisfied too as the restaurant offers a large variety of food. On Saturday evening there was also a pianist playing the piano with nice music. The staff was very friendly and professional, we enjoyed a lot. website: http://www.spinozahaz.hu/etterem.php?lang=en
Karma Cafe and Restaurant. We ate here on several occasions, the food was good, service excellent, and the vibe and location first class. They also did an excellent choice of coffee and snacks at lunchtime. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the outside tables, which were provided with 'space heaters' and blankets for the chilly evenings. It was always very busy.Popular withLocalFoodies
Can I give Becketts six stars? Not only do they have good food, good drinks, friendly staff and reasonable prices, but their live music is amazing. One of their regular bands, "Smile," will bring you right back into the 90s (in a good way) with their nostalgic Oasis tributes and other classic songs. It's also a fun place to come ...Popular withNightlifeStudents
This restaurant was located just down the street from our hotel, so we stopped in one night to treat ourselves to a meal. We shared the rosemary roasted duck with roasted potatoes and boiled cabbage prepared with blueberry, as well as potatoes with rosemary mayonnaise, and Palacsinta (Hungarian pancakes with rum and chocolate sauce and awesome) and Vanilla Ice Cream ...Popular withFoodies

Bors is a soup and sandwich place run by some guys who used to work in fancy restaurants. The soups and sandwiches are creative and delicious. They also do house-made sodas which are great. I absolutely recommend this place if you're in Budapest! They speak English and will happily translate the menu for you. Service is great but there's not ...

In the back of Városliget City Park. I chose this restaurant for their steak (said to be very good) after a few days of goulash and paprika overdose but, once there, I couldn't resist...more goulash!!! Atmosphere and decor aren't generally important to me when picking restaurants (it's all about the food, baby!) but I've got to say I was pleasantly ...

You really will need to know where to look for this tiny cafe. It is worth searching for, however. The cafe specializes in chocolate in every form. They are famous for their hot chocolate which is unbelievably thick and hot. It's almost like drinking a mug of pure molten chocolate. It's sometimes busy as there are only a couple of ...

We were luck enough to go to the "Hungarian Night" at Le Bourbon. The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. The best part the live Gypsy music and Hungarian folklore dancing show. We had a great experience. The goulash soup was YUMMY!!!
