    The Depto

    The Depto

I loved this place! It’s located in a building which used to be a “conventilla” (which is the name for housing association buildings in Argentina). It’s history fascinated me as soon as I walked into the courtyard and a lot of the original features inside the flat have been maintained. The entrance wall had been exposed to reveal the original ...

    Hotel Vitrum

    Hotel Vitrum

    Class:

Excellent! - 86% of guests recommend

The huge glass walls and indoor greenhouses in the inner part of the hotel explain why it’s called Hotel Vitrium. It lifted my spirits walking through those parts of the hotel. The plants were sprouting out all over the place. They injected life and energy into the building. The restaurant and bar were huge and comfortable, but didn’t match the ...

    Elevage Buenos Aires Hotel

    Elevage Buenos Aires Hotel

    Class:
    3 reviews
Very Good! - 80% of guests recommend

This is an elegant and more traditional hotel option in the heart of Buenos Aires. Breakfast is a winner and is served in the light and airy restaurant space. The hotel’s gym is ok though not that spacious or modern. The rooms are very generously sized and there’s plenty of room to move around so it’d be perfect if you’re ...

    Hotel Madero

    Class:
    2 reviews
Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

A clean, modern hotel in the (more recently) renovated Puerto Madero. This former shipping port has been revived with lots of hotels, restaurants and bars while still maintaining its former charm (the waterways are dotted with shipping cranes). The hotel itself has all the amenities a traveler or traveling family needs- bar, resto, pool, fitness center, etc. What the area ...

    Avenue Hostel

    4 reviews
Excellent! - 85% of guests recommend

I liked the petite nature of this hostel. There wasn’t a lot of communal areas to spend time relaxing in, but that just helped to create an even more intimate and friendly environment. It wouldn’t be a place that I would put at the top of my list for Buenos Aires, because there wasn’t that much going on to get ...

    Hostel Suites Obelisco

Good! - 78% of guests recommend

This place felt very understaffed and cold. I get that security is an issue for any hostel, but in this one there are two doors in which you must ring a bell and wait for a light to go out so you can come in or out, which got annoying after a while. This was especially annoying when there was ...

    Posada Luna

    Posada Luna

    5 reviews

I was absolutely charmed by this place as well as the woman who runs it, who was happy to bust out her French when she learned I spoke the language. The whole vibe was incredibly familiar, which makes sense considering the posada also functions as an apartment for some of the guests (generally students and young workers) who stay on ...

    Bisonte Libertad

    Class:

Very Good! - 81% of guests recommend

Bisonte Libertad is just your basic hotel and this can work out great if that's what you need. This isn't a place to go if you need a gym, spa or jacuzzi, but everything the hotel DOES have is really good. The lack of luxury extras is also probably one of the reasons why this hotel won't break the bank, ...

    Own Palermo Hollywood

Kinda different hotel. Very spartan room, like one big box with white walls. I think the idea is for the investors to build it, rent rooms out as a hotel for 10 years, then convert it to studio apartments. The room, and the feel, was a little odd. But, the place was clean, quiet, and the staff here were all ...

This hotel was comfortable and sensible – definitely gave off a business-y vibe. The rooms come equipped with a small kitchenette, but for those who’d rather not cook, they may order from La Tour, a restaurant at an adjoining tower a block away (the food will be delivered to your room). There is no restaurant, but there is a breakfast ...

We enjoyed our four night stay at Pop Hotel in the less touristy area of Villa Crespo. Absolutely loved the neighborhood-- it's just off the subway line and within walking distance to trendier neighborhoods, but the immediate area is full of leafy streets with little cafes, restaurants, bakeries, gelaterias, etc. Really fun base to explore from. The hotel has a ...

    Hotel Republica

    Class:

This giant, sprawling complex felt a bit like an airport – from the sliding glass doors to the hordes of customers milling about, dragging their rolling suitcases behind them. The staff was friendly if not a bit terse – though that may be expected with the huge amount of clients they have to deal with. Located right in front of ...

    Dazzler Flats Quartier Basavilbaso

    Class:

Good! - 79% of guests recommend

The reception area is actually quite empty on the first floor and the hotel almost seems designed to keep people out. Though the rooms and amenities are great, the staff was a bit cold and impersonal. This kind of treatment might be good for cold, hard business types though, since everyone there is efficient at their job. Though the reception ...

Mediocre - 68% of guests recommend

I walked into Lime House’s lobby expecting to speak Spanish (we are, after all, in Buenos Aires), and so was a bit surprised when the receptionist looked at me blankly after I’d spoken. Turns out he didn’t speak a word of Spanish, nor did the vast majority of the hostel dwellers. Besides the Fernet offered on the bar’s menu, you’ll ...
