    Havana

    Caminito, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Havana is famous for their dulce de leche treats, so we had to give them a try. I asked for the thing they're famous for and the cashier gave me this delicious creation of chocolate and dulce de leche. It comes in additional flavors and with fruit, but I opted for the original. Not disappointed.

Amazing ceviche for an affordable price. Be sure to grab a pisco sour or chicha morada (a dark purple, refreshing corn-based cordial) for an especially Peruvian experience.

    La Boca - Buenos Aires

    La Boca - Buenos Aires

La Boca is famous for the Tango, which you'll find on El Caminito, the main pedestrian street. There's some shopping and lots of sidewalk restaurants. The houses are brilliantly colored which tells you right away that this place likes to party.

I loved La Cabrera for the steak, sweet breads, location, and red wine. I didn't like the rude waitstaff or the loud family sitting next to me.

    Cabaña Las Lilas

Touristy, overpriced, mediocre service. Food is not that great (especially at this price range where you can find better restaurant in the US)

This place is gelato heaven. I could eat the dulce de leche granizado (dulce de leched with chocolate bits) all day long. There are numerous outlets throughout the city. I prefer the one in Recoleta just because of the neighborhood. This is BA. You have to have the dulce de leche. It will never be this good at home.

    Gran Café Tortoni

For me this place is more a tourist spot. The decor is beautiful. The food is below average and is on the expensive side. Do not order the iced cappuccino, it's no bueno!

    Siga La Vaca

Alicia Moreau de Justo 1714, Lago Buenos Aires Argentina
    3.5

It's a versatile all-you-can-eat buffet specialized on BBQ or "Asado". Conveniently located, it allows you to wander Puerto Madero afterwards. Nothing fancy nor the best parrilla in town, but it's worth giving it a try.

Great steaks, plus you get to write a message on your wine bottle and display it for all to see. Need reservations, but a neighborhood gem. A better place to visit that Cabana Las Lilas.

    Havanna Alfajores

This is NOT the place to grab a coffee to go. You need to relax, take a seat and absorb the incredible smell of any of them, while enjoying a nice cup of coffee. Try the expresso and a Cacao alfajor.

    Cafe San Juan

This is hands down the best meal I had in Buenos Aires, and one of the best meals I've ever had in my life (and I've been fortunate to have lots of great meals all over the world!) The simple but delicious (and surprisingly affordable) menu marries interesting flavors, but more importantly, you can tell that so much care and ...

One block over from the apartment. Politicians, actors, celebrities sometimes visit for a beer or coffee. A little pricey, but a nice place to have a lunchtime beer and a sandwich outside under the massive Ombu tree.

Great, authentic argentinian pizza! One of the top traditional pizzerias in Buenos Aires. To me, a perfect evening incluides a slice of "Cuatro Quesos" after a good play on Av. Corrientes. Be patient, you might have to wait for a while to get a table, but it'll be totally worth it!

peruvian-style sushi in argentina. one of my favorite non-argentinian argentinian restaurants. as with any sushi feast, try a little bit of everything. you won't be sorry. that said, it can get pricey. bring your sugar mama/daddy or put it on your company's expense report.
