Every time I'm in Portland I make sure I go to Burgerville, often for my first meal. It's fresh beef with local Tillamook cheese. The milkshakes are the real thing and thick, and, if marionberries are in season, you can try the local treat. This burgerville is across the street from the Convention Center.

    Voodoo Doughnut

    0.8 mi from Burgerville

More of an idea than a place you should actually eat. A doughnut with a layer Cap'n Crunch sounds intriguing, right? It is that, and it's also repulsive.

    Food Carts All Over Portland

    0.87 mi from Burgerville
    30 reviews

The food carts are a must-see for foodies and out-of-towners in Portland. I have found the most obscure dishes and random cuisines here, and they're spread throughout the city. Whether you want a Korean taco, crepes, soul food, or Brazilian food, you'll be able to find it all.

    Stumptown Coffee Roasters

    0.85 mi from Burgerville

Simply amazing coffee, mmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coming from San Francisco, my baseline for coffee is Ritual Roasters and Blue Bottle and Stumptown is right up there if not better. I can't really describe it and you really have to try it for yourself. Also had the berry brioche, mmmm!!!!! This location is also a really cool space, high ceilings, art filled walls, ...

We were actually able to get a table for two when we walked in one day, but it is highly recommended that you make reservations. Foie all the things. California put a ban, and so we fled to another state where serving foie isn't a problem. In fact, at Le Pigeon that one evening, they had foie in every course, ...

    Mother's Bistro & Bar

    0.96 mi from Burgerville

Mother's is consistently ranked as one of the best brunch restaurants in Portland. The decor is fancy, and the lines are often long, but despite the hype, Mother's is a good restaurant. They serve big, excellent portions of breakfast, sandwiches, and provides comfy yet refined American food.

This is a great Tapas place in Portland! Quant neighborhood feel, large open window storefront with community tables and a rear eating bar, with the open kitchen right behind where all the fantastic little Tapa plates come out quickly! First, the 4 of us started by sitting in the waiting area, which is a long narrow, 3 foot wide space ...

    Le Bistro Montage

    0.95 mi from Burgerville

The Montage, under the east side of the Morrison Bridge, is a ate-night Portland institution known for it's mac and cheese and cajun concoctions. The best thing about this place is that they'll wrap your leftovers up in tin foil shapes (usually roses and swans--sometimes they get more creative with their creations).

Good appetizers. Chicken wings were great, and the best thing? SPANISH COFFEE! Make sure you go to the bar and watch the bartender make this drink. It's quite a show and he even lights it on fire. Yes, there is a ton of alcohol in it, especially Bacardi 151. Maybe knowing less is better, but oh well, now you know!

Le Pigeon's sister restaurant did not disappoint one bit! Fantastic late night dining experience in downtown Portland! Late night happy hour is the way to go! :) Super easy to get to since we were staying at one of the many hotels in the area. We walked in and found seats at the bar, though perhaps in the future, calling ...

Doug Fir Lounge concert venue is its full name, but everyone just calls it Doug Fir. Always packed, so you should expect a wait, but as far as reasonably priced and delicious Middle Eastern food goes, this is a great place for a cheap date. Larger groups run into the problem of having space found for them, but I've found that parties of three or four don't have too much trouble getting in. The platters are ...

Interesting menu with a whole lot of simple, no-nonsense dishes. I really liked the concept of the fried kimchi but ours came really salty (maybe the covered the already salty kimchi with salted batter?). Ramen came a little salty too but overall the taste for both dishes were pretty good. I would come here again hoping that the chef that ...

Delicious, massive burritos that you can (and should) get smothered in your selection of sauce. A little pricey (~$10 for a burrito) for a cheap college student like myself but totally worth it every once and a while.
