Interesting take in Korean fusion food. Good selection dishes. Large portions on their Bulgaria Nachos and Kimchi Po Boy Sandwich. Get with their spicy cheesy Gangnam Fries.

Awesome new addition to The Plant Shopping Center and to the South Bay in general! At Burnt Rice, I can get both my Korean and Mexican fix! Staff is super friendly and it's a great casual but trendy spot to hang out at.
Everything on their menu sounds delicious so it will be easy to over order. Head here for their Happy Hour specials from 3-6pm and 9pm-close so you can try a bunch of different items for $5-6. Our group of 4 had their bulgogi nachos, pork tacos, gangnam style fries, Tae Kwon Do chicken wings, green tea cheesecake and soju drinks and everything was awesome! We also enjoyed the complimentary banchan dishes and seafood soup they gave the table. Excited to go back and try out their new seafood items.

It seems like I have been waiting forever for this place to open. And the wait was definitely worth it by all means.
When you first walk in you realize right away that this not going to be your typical run of the mill mom & pop Korean joint. It has a very modern upscale cozy atmosphere. Nicely decorated inside and cool lighting effects everywhere, even by your feet.
I was really hungry and decided to go with the LA Kal Bi dinner for myself even though it was still lunch time. The server offered me a free house soup or salad and I got the soup and it was good. Then next came one of my favorite parts. All of those little side dishes. YUMMY! I ate 4 of the 9 side dishes and my server refilled them all without me even asking. Then my short ribs came out on a sizzling plate. The smoke and sound of the sizzling plate just made my mouth start to water even before the plate got to my table. The meat was juicy and full of flavor. I was starving when I got there and so full when I finished I could hardly walk out of the place. Lol
The staff was great and very attentive.
I will be back because there were lots of other things on the menu that I wanted to try. Their Fusion items of course. Flavored Soju cocktails and a nice selection of bottled beers and beers on tap.

One of my new favorite joints for Korean fushion. What's even better? They have great Happy Hour specials. Loving how now the Plant shopping center has a little of everything you're craving, so convenient! It's a small place so sometimes there's a wait, but well worth it. Everything on the menu is yummy, and I kid you not I've had the opportunity to try most of the menu. Love the tacos, fries, and you have to get the prawns! They have a wonderful staff and with affordable food, fruity soju, sports playing, and Happy Hour...kind of seals the deal for anyone!

Ok, so I may have given a little more than generous reviews for some restaurants in the past, but Burn Rice is hands down the best new place in San Jose. Since the day they opened they have been pact night after night! I can honestly say I have tried almost everything on the menu and everything is amazing. The owner Mark is super involved in making sure this venture is a success.
The happy hour is incredible, the "Gangnam Style Fries" and the Nacho's are a must have.

Innovative cuisine. Very modern décor. Relaxed atmosphere. Exceptional staff and service. Food is simply delicious. Definitely keeps you coming back for more.
Jumbo prawns – delicious! Light and crispy, crunchy with a burst of flavor.
Gangnam style fries – delicious! Full of flavor and the cheese is amazing! Even after an hour the cheese is still melted and does not make the fries soggy!
Nachos – delicious! I think hands down this is my favorite dish of the night! We licked the plate clean!
Chicken wings – delicious! Very flavorful and well cooked! Meat is not dried out, still very juicy.
Seafood soup – good! I was a little bit under the weather so this soup was very soothing and tasty!
Beef tacos – delicious. Tender and flavorful!
Pork tacos – delicious! It’s hard to decide if I like the pork or beef better, but if I must, I’d say pork won! It was more tender and just as flavorful! So good!!!
Chap Chae – delicious! Cooked just perfect and it tasted divine!
Kim chee fried rice – amazing! SO good! I think it would have been heaven if they threw an egg on top!! MMMmmmm good!
Make sure you get their wine reduction sauce and the orange sauce! So good with everything!
New gem in the Plant! Discover it! Embrace it! Pamper your taste buds with it! Enjoy!

Korean & Mexican fusion spot in South San Jose. It's inside the Plant Shopping center next to Five Guys. Happy hour + reverse happy hour avail. The staff are all super sweet and fun! Tried a tons of dishes, and my fave is the bulgogi nachos, fried prawns (perfectly crunchy with a hint of sweetness & chirashi/mayo sauce), jap chae, and soft tacos. If you like flavored soju, this is the go to spot in the area. Opened late night.
