This is a fantastic little gem of a hotel, located right near the Peggy and the accadamia bridge. A design-oriented hotel, ca'pisani is modern by Venetian standards, but not obnoxiously so. I loved the steam shower in my bathroom and my giant bed was just heaven. What made me really love ca'pisani had more to do with the genuine warmth and niceness of the staff than anything else and I will never forget how kind they were to me the night I arrived at the hotel, starving and exhausted after a sweltering and endless train ride from Nice. I got in after 1 am, way, way past closing time for the hotel restaurant and way past closing time for all the nearby dining establshments, but i was truly ravenous and i was desperate to find something, anything, to eat. The people at the front desk totally rescued me with an incredible little picnic they put together, of prosciutto, pecorino, an assortment of great bread and fresh fruit, all hand-delivered to my room. I could not have been more ecstatic and I will really never forget that act of kindness.
Now here's the real surprise: Ca'Pisani is incredibly well-priced--and is actually downright cheap, compared to any of the large Venetian luxury hotels. Who could ask for anything more?

Loved the modernized layout of palazzo-turned-art-deco boutique hotel. If you stay here, grab a lounge chair on the roof on a sunny day and enjoy. There is a Turkish bath on the top floor! The juice bar downstairs is exquisite as was the breakfast at the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this place. It's right near Fondamenta Zattere and Accademia Bridge, a lively part of town.

This was Venice’s first design hotel and it shows. Inside the classic, peachy/orange plaster building, everything is cool and modern, starting with the chandelier in the foyer that’s made out of little fiber optic strands (like those lamps you could buy in the ‘80s, except way more interesting and awesome). The restaurant/breakfast area is downstairs from the lobby in a room decorated with the kind of warm, reddish wood you might expect in a ski lodge – and the food (which is on display in a glass case) is gorgeous and fresh. In the hotel room, the décor was all wood and metal. But the best part was the bathroom, with sparkly brownish tile, a HUGE tub, and Lush products in the shower. The hotel also has a shoe-shine machine (!!!) with three color options on the second floor, a tiny little steam room on the third floor, and a small but charming terrace with outdoor showers on the roof.

I like that this hotel is a bit out of the way. The area is so much quieter and sweeter than lots of places I’ve stayed in Venice. When I arrived, there were street musicians nearby and people sitting at the outdoor tables having a nice time. Inside, it’s distinctly (if at times, questionably) fashionable: leather chairs, fancy wood desks, wrought-iron railings, weird lights with fake flames, antique furniture. Everything is very design-y in a strange, very Italian way. (You would never find this mix of the old, new, and cheesy in New York, for example). It’s also a super nice hotel. I loved the well-crafted bed frame – and all the attention to detail. Everywhere you look there’s something that’s been intentionally chosen or arranged, from the shiny silver desk cupboard to the luminescent glitter-tastic tiling in the bathroom. And just for a little throwback, there’s one historic looking wooden rowing machine – that yes, actually works.
