Old rockstars don't die, they just open funky cantinas in Mexico (or end up on American Idol :-) Sammy Hagar of Montrose and Van Halen fame, Mr. 'I can't drive 55' himself opted for the former rather than the latter and has been serving up his own brand of blue agave tequila ever since. If you're lucky, you might evern bump into him yourself!

Sammy Hagar's bar in Cabo is a blast!
He was actually there when I was there so that made it even better.
It is a great place to drink, do shots, drink.....
    Loved It!!

Following a morning catamaran snorkel cruise to Los Arcos, we broke away from the cruise excursion herd and walked from the pier to Cabo Wabo for lunch. Good food, and fun to look at Sammy's memorabilia. I very much enjoyed their signature Margarita, the Waborita, and later recreated it at home. A laid-back joint during the day; would love to see the scene at night!

Staying in Cabo for a week I did miss Americanized Mexican food. After shopping for souvenirs in the area, I stopped by Cabo Wabo. It's a big restaurant that's a hot spot at night for the college type of crowd drinking and partying. But during the day, it's quiet and filled with tourists. Food is good, service is great. Has a TGI Friday kind of vibe.

For the 40 plus party crowd it's a must do to say you did...or face shame when you go home and all your friends asked if you went! Drinks are a little pricey, and there are better places to eat but this is the most likely place that you might spot a famous singer....and impromptu concerts DO happen!! I was there for Smash Mouth and a friend was there for Toby Keith...it happens!!!
