This is a beautiful hotel to have a meeting in, and it is right on the Nile. The only problem is breathing the air, both inside (cigarettes) and out (the cars). I love it, but I couldn't live there.

Amazing, heavenly and super quiet. The bathroom was larger than my living room at home. Marble everywhere, lovely hardwood floors in the bedrooms, super soft sheets and incredibly friendly staff. The only down side is it's near the airport and very far from most of the tourist attractions in Cairo.

    InterContinental Semiramis

    InterContinental Semiramis

    Hotel Class:
    4
    4 reviews

I'm always in two minds when it comes to staying in one of the 'chain gang' and if you travelled frequently to Eastern Europe and Arab countries during the 1970s, Intercontinental often used to be the only option for something of a decent international standard. Make no mistake, the Intercontinental Semiramis is an architectural monstrosity - like so many of ...

    Grand Hyatt Cairo

    Grand Hyatt Cairo

    Hotel Class:

A monument to all that's truly awful about international chain hotels - isolated on its own piece of land and sticking up two fingers to the culture and history of the area, not least through its uncompromising architecture. Still most of the rooms enjoy splendid views over the Nile and Garden City. There are more amusing, esoteric touches like finding ...

    Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah

Exquisite. Location is key when lounging by the Nile. Sofitel packs the magic of all things Egyptian :from hotel decor, to the mesmerizing Nile to the distant Pyramids to the authentic cuisine choices. It's an oasis in the otherwise chaotic Cairo. Be ready to be spoiled and have hours and hours on hand: because time flies here- and no matter ...

Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino

Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino

    Hotel Class:

Beautiful hotel on the fairly upscale "island" of Zamalek, which is located just outside downtown Cairo. The hotel grounds are immaculately maintained, and the decor is richly ornate. There are several gift shops, and restaurants on the property, including a bakery/cafe and a very good sushi restaurant. The rooms are clean, spacious and not overly done. The only downside is ...

I was very nicely surprised from the hotel. I would recommend it to anybody who wants visiting Cairo. Have a very good breakfast and go to sightseeing all day. Its not expensive but in the same time clean and cosy with large comfortable rooms. The souvenir shops into hotel sell cheaper than the shops on the tourist streets (check the ...

I stayed here for four nights. It was amazing! It's located very close to the airport and out of the center of Cairo in a quiet area. I didn't go swimming, but I did get a massage here. In the hotel lobby, they have very tight security, a dance floor restaurants, shops, a bank and a business lounge with internet. ...

One of the nicest hotels you can stay in, and it is conveniently close to the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. You can actually walk to the museum from the hotel. The rooms are spacious and if you are on a high floor, like we were, you have some very pretty views of Cairo at night to look forward to. A ...

One of Cairo's best-kept secrets is this former British officers club which then became an annex to the legendary (and long since gone Shepherds Hotel). Rooms are atmospheric but basic - the present owners have a policy of repairing or restoring anything which breaks, rather than replacing it - but the real start attraction here is the first floor bar ...

A budget traveler's dream come true: a cranky old French woman (born and raised in Egypt, mind you) runs this guesthouse with an iron fist. Everything is perfectly clean and delightfully old-fashioned. She has even sewn little cozies to cover up the gas tanks for the hot water heaters. The only drawback (for some people) is that the beds are ...
