    Marathon Ethiopian Restaurant

This unassuming restaurant serves my favourite Ethiopian food in Calgary; it can take time for the food to emerge from the kitchen, and the quality is a bit mixed from time to time, but in my books, the friendly service and generous portions more than make up for the inconsistency. Try the combo platters.

    Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria

    1 review

Ok, right off the bat I wasn't impressed by the fact that it's a "order at the counter" type of joint, it really takes out of the dining experience. On a -30C night, having to park really far down the street because they do not have their own lot really irked me. However, once the food came, I knew it ...

    Vin Room

    1 review

This place is a very SEXY, SLEEK and SEDUCTIVE joint. Very posh, intimate venue with equally impressive wait staff. Every server is well equipped to suggest a good wine, even if you don't know what you want. Seating spaces are fitted, layout definitely makes you engage your company a little more than intimately (so bring a hot date). Menu allows ...

    Teatro Restaurant Calgary

    1 review

Teatro is one of Calgary's top Italian restaurants and one of the top in any cuisine category. Conveniently across from the performing arts centre, it is an ideal spot for pre or post event meals or just a drink at the bar.

    Redheads Bagel Cafe

    1 review

I'm married to a stunning Red Head. I'm also rolling into Week 3 of a long business trip and really really miss Gayle. So do you think that I would walk into a place based only on its name? Redheads is also my kind of place as this place specializes in Montreal-style bagels and smoked meat, Winnipeg cream cheeses and ...

    Holy Grill

If you want an incredibly unhealthy but incredibly delicious breakfast or brunch - we're talking all the eggs, bacon, and cheese you can wish for - come to The Holy Grill. The panini are fantastically good, but the egg plates are great too. This place cures hangovers like no other, and there's free refills on the coffee. Can be a ...

    Brulee Bakery

    1 review

A work colleague introduced me to the Brûlée Bakery on a nicely warm and sunny Saturday morning. We were walking down Electric Avenue, when she made a hard turn at an unmarked door and then hard left to downstairs. Upstairs was a cooking store and school, with the Metrovino Wine Shop farther through. She knows of this place as she ...
