Feels like you are back in Paris. Legion of Honor is a museum with great views of San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge outside. When you pay $10 to go in, there are rooms that make you feel like you are back in Versailles, France. Also when we went, there was organ concert in Rodin's room, quite nice!

This is one of the most wonderful and scenic local museums and the organ concerts on the weekend are not to be missed! After the museum, take a hike around Land's End and enjoy the Golden Gate Bridge views.

Western art collection from late medieval to impressionists worth seeing, and not so enormous that you can't view it all at once. Great collection of Rodin sculptures. The building itself is worth a trip, commissioned copy at 3/4 scale of the 18th century Hotel de Salm in Paris, made into the HQ of the Legion of Honor by Napoleon Bonaparte. Set on beautiful grounds overlooking the Pacific Ocean with great views.

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, comprising the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park and the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, is the largest public arts institution in San Francisco.

Nice place to walk around with great views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Lots of grass and colorful flowers to match. The museum has an excellent rotation of historic art and is well priced.

The Legion of Honor sits on top of a hill and is a stunning museum. The collections range from classical through impressionist. I suggest going on a weekday because it's not as busy. I love going to see their Monet's.

This is one of my favorite museums from the inside out. The outdoor sculpture honoring the Holocaust is heart wrenching.

Beautiful museum. What makes it the most beautiful is the garden in front. The rows and rows of color flowers are alone worth the visit. Also on a clear day you can view the golden gate bridge from here. The Museum is large but can also be seen in one day. There is the art that is always showing and they also have special exhibits. I really enjoy this museum over others.

Truly astonishing Museum and setting. This is a small museum with an eclectic but very high quality collection of fine arts, crafts, and exhibits. There are frequently free concerts played in its central atriums. Many of the rooms are breathtaking. Outside it is located in one of the most beautfiul places in the world. Views of Golden Gate Bridge, Marin and San Francisco. Don't miss it.

My favorite of SF museums, the Legion of Honor is perched prominently on a hill overlooking the bay and Golden Gate Bridge, and only a short walk from a mini-forest of eucalyptus trees. The regal outside of the building is adored with Greek-like columns, and inside is impressive too, hosting a huge Rodin collection and lots of rotating works from around the globe.

A fine art museum in a lovely building on the western edge of the city overlooking the Golden Gate. The finest bits of their collection are European painting, but it's worth going for the setting alone. The museum plays host to periodic blockbuster exhibitions like the Monet retrospective I saw here a few years ago, which are among the best in the world -- check the website for schedules. This location can be a bit difficult to reach without a car.

Few things impress so beautifully on the spirit like the California Palace of the Legion of Honor. From the breathtaking views of the Bay outside to the remarkable art—classical art is my favorite—within, this place will stir every part of your soul.

Like many other museums in the city, the first Tuesday of the month gets you free admission to this museum. Parking can be difficult during such peak days, so you'll probably want to arrive earlier or expect to park lower down the hill along the dirt path. If you're taking the bus from town, expect to be commuting for awhile. It's quite a ways out.

I absolutely love this museum and I cannot express that enough. While their exhibits are incredible, their permanent connection offers an impressive amount for any art lover.

Are you a fan of Rodin?

Outside of the Rodin Museum in Paris, the Legion of Honor houses the largest collection you will find anywhere. The exhibit is absolutely amazing. This is truly a gem of a spot and one that you will not forget.

The surrounding grounds offers spectacular views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Well worth the $15 adult admission fee.

We stopped here to use the restroom (we have kids) and it was the first Tuesday of the month so there was no entry fee. A very nice museum.

I was surprised to see "The Thinker" sculpture in the courtyard of this fine museum. From the name of the place, I had no idea it was an art museum until my daughter was assigned to go on a field trip here. They have a large collection of beautiful, old artwork. They also have some modern hand-blown glass art.

The Holocaust memorial is accessible outside, even late at night. So much fun to scare people with.

Every time I come here, I marvel at the beauty of the Legion of Honor. I always see brides taking their pictures here and it's so easy to see why. Such a beautiful location and if you go to the nearby street, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge.

Rodin's The Thinker sits in the courtyard, beckoning you to come inside the Legion's doors to explore and think about art.

The BF and I came here for the Impressionist Paris exhibit, a companion exhibit to the DeYoung's Birth of Impressionism. If you had tickets to the BIrth of Impressionism, you could go into the Legion's exhibit (and museum) for free. Score!

We spent an hour or two wandering through the exhibit before he had enough of Impressionist art and wanted to leave.

Next time we're here, we are going through their permanent collection.

This is also THE place to go to get gorgeous wedding pictures taken. I always see wedding parties here, getting their poses on as their photographer snaps away.
