This is a great place to take the kids. They have a blast you actually learn a little something too. There are lots of hands on exhibits. There is also a couple of fast food restaurants if you get hungry because you can spend all day there easily.Recommended for:

It's really nice if you are into the sciences, especially for kids, even at a very young age. We were there when the kid was about a year and a half, he enjoyed it thoroughly. And it's free!Recommended for:

This is literally the best place to get kids excited and learn that theres more to science than beakers and test tubes. Here it is filled with fun and interactive displays, that highlight the common principles of science in a way that no classroom can do! I love this place sooo much! especially when they had the star wars exibit! Any place that highlights star wars, is golden in my book!Recommended for:

This is the best place to take children in LA. I used to take my children here 25 years ago and they loved it more than Disneyland. There was always so much to see and do. I didn't pay years ago but you may have to now in this economy, but even if you do it is well worth it!Recommended for:

Of course the best part of the CA Science Center is to see the Endeavour shuttle in person. Admission to the center is completely free, but reserve a time slot to see the Endeavour online to avoid long waits (it costs just a few dollars to reserve). To see the space shuttle up close is so cool. They are working on creating a new exhibit so you can see the space shuttle at difference levels as it sits vertically. There are also quite a few IMAX movies related to space and nature that you can check out for a fee. The movie I saw was much older so it wasn't as clear as movies are these days, but it was still impressive to see what astronauts see in space. The rest of the center has some smaller exhibits that are fun for kids as they are interactive. However, most of them are old and don't work extremely well (if they work at all), and don't provide any explanation on what you force or action you are imitating in nature.Recommended for:

I admit I have never been crazy about Space or Science.
That was until I went to this museum. It had all kinds of really great Air Force planes hanging from the ceiling. The Space Shuttle Endeavour goes on display October 30th and right now entry is free.Recommended for:

I liked the science centre before, and now that the endeavour is nesting there, I really love it. It's a great place to spend an afternoon - good for out of town visitors and parental units. some hands on exhibits, as well as revolving exhibits that require special ticketing. there's a huge rose garden right outside as well, which is lovely to picnic and walk in.

It was an incredible experience. Being just so close to this aircraft was amazing! I have come to the California Science Center before but never have I actually checked out the Endeavour! The name actually was named by children who had chosen such a name that they believed would be appropriate for such a journey. If you ever do come check out the museum, try to see the Endeavour too! Besides this special exhibit, there are also so many amazing wonders to look at and walk through within the entire museum. I think one of my favorite parts of this museum is the ecosystem area. It has a lot of fun filled facts and it really gets interesting when you check out how different parts of the world inhabit the most unique forms of weather and landscape. Last but not least, the entrance to this museum is beautiful! I love the decorative designs that hover the entrance as if welcoming the people with a sort of wonderland lookRecommended for:

The California Science Center is such a cool place! Admission is free, so that's awesome. You only have to pay for certain exhibits, such as the one for the Endeavour. There are a lot of other cool galleries/exhibits, though. Check out all of them! This is the place to get your nerd on and explore. Just remember to eat before you get here because they don't have many food options. It's pretty crowded on the weekends, so you're better off going on a weekday unless you like crowds.
