I live and work here and have since 2008. One of the world's greatest university towns! Unlike Oxford, which is an industrial city, it's in the sleepy fens of East Anglia.

Cambridge is famous for its university and less than an hour from London by train. It is a small town with a wonderful atmosphere as you walk past the old college buildings on cobbled streets. There is a small open air market, interesting shops and a lot of history.

Beautiful old English university town. Wander the streets and enjoy the perfectly trimmed greens, charming shops and magnificent architecture around the city. Try a hand at punting on the river or some tea and cakes at one of the many cafes. Whatever you do, please keep off the grass!

Cambridge is a beautiful city and should be high on the list of any visitor to the UK. Home to the University of Cambridge, one of the world's oldest and most famous seats of learning, it features a great many examples of fine and historic architecture as well as the River Cam.
As a result of development, the shopping district has been expanded considerably, making it a more liveable city for those used to bigger places. There are also many pubs and some decent restaurants.

45mins out of London, a good choice for a day out. City centre is small enough to walk around and visit the numerous colleges spread around the town. Particularly beautiful King's and Trinity College.

A short train ride from London, Cambridge is a quintessential college town with beautiful architecture and amazing history. I did the university-sponsored walking tour, and found it well worth the time and money.
