- CAMEL TREKKING JAISALMERFirst to ReviewOct 27, 2013
After much research on the internet, we booked a Desert Safari for 2 days/1 night with CAMELR TREKKING JAISALMER and we had one of the most memorable experience with them - right from the Railway Station pickup, Jeep Safari to abandoned villages, Camel safari in Sam San dunes, stay in tents - everything seemed perfect.
The guy who is in charge is RAJIV and he own GUEST HOUSE in Jaisalmer. He is super cool, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. What sets him apart from the rest of the travel agents is that he takes a genuine interest (respects our suggestions/opinions and caters accordingly) on us.
We started our safari with a Jain Temple - Impressive, Kuldhara (An Abandoned Village - OK) before doing the camel safari. The camel safari was freakin awesome (about an hour or so). The sunset at Sam San dunes was magical and since the season was just starting not many people there which was a welcome. Further down the desert you can see a perfect ripple effect which makes the safari even more worthy. Yeah you get cool drinks, water, beer, snacks in the desert - prices are a bit steep so do bargain. There are a lot of gypsies who entertain you in the desert - folk music and dance.
Music + Dance + Desert + Sunset - Deadly combo. RAJIV made sure that everything goes as per the plan. The tent stay was comfy, yeah they did have bathroom in the tents. They did have a gypsy music and dance in the tents and along with the dinner made the day a memorable one.
