The bike trail runs from Eastham, south to Orleans and west towards the mid-Cape. An old railroad track, it's a wonderful resource for biking and walking. There are plenty of places to hop off and enjoy yourself in each of the towns it runs through. Idle Times bike rentals is a half mile from the house.

The CCRT is an excellent way to get out and really explore nature. You can hop on the trail at several intervals across the Lower Cape and take in the sights. Many people use the CCRT to get to and from some of the beaches in Wellfleet and Eastham.Recommended for:

The rail trail is extensive, and allows for both walking and riding (kids might also scooter, etc.). Bicycles can be rented in several spots along the way. The rail trail has spots in the woods, near inland kettle ponds, near marshesm and along the coast. There is something for everyone!!!Recommended for:

Less than a mile from our house you can access 22 miles of paved off-street riding through the towns of Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet with many opportunities to get off the trail to visit a beach or a town to browse or shop or find food, water and public restrooms. Salt Pond Visitors' Center and National Seashore Beach is only a 4.3 mile bike ride from our house!

Excellent biking trail through well-maintained conservation easements on Cape Cod. The trail used to be a railroad line and now is a first rate green way. Fantastic scenery.

Spanning a good stretch of the Cape, the Rail Trail (so named because it was once a train track) is a great way to get from the beach to your local soft serve place. The path is mostly right down the middle of the Cape, so you won't get any beach views, but the scenery is pretty nonetheless, and there are plenty of spots to get off the path and bike another few minutes to beaches on either side. If you're heading North to Wellfleet, reward yourself with a trip to PB Boulangerie, by far the best bakery in the area, located right by the northern end of the Rail Trail.
The Cape Cod Rail Trail follows a former railroad right-of-way for 22 miles through the towns of Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet. Its paved surface, few hills, and well-marked automobile crossings make it ideal for cyclists....read more from www.mass.gov
