    Table Mountain

Tafelberg Road, Cape Town 7493 South Africa
    4.5
    66 reviews

Awesome views, great hikes up and down the mountain. I'd specially recommend going up the back of the mountain, through Kirstenbosch Gardens. This way offers some very interesting viewpoints and it's well worth it. The downside is the cafe on the top, expensive and always packed with people forming big lines.

    Table Mountain Cableway

Lower Cableway Station, Cape Town South Africa
    4.5
    39 reviews

The cable car rotates while climbing so everyone has a chance to get a 360 degree view. I think it makes sense to take the cable car to the top and then spend the time and energy exploring the top rather than hiking to the top and then being too tired (at least for some of us) to explore the ...

    Boulders Beach

Off Queens Road, Cape Town 7995 South Africa
    4.5
    40 reviews

Great place to visit, hang out on the beach with the penguins. Spot of a advice here. Most tourists will actually end up in an area where you cannot get among them. If you find yourself next to a new looking tourist information building you are in the wrong place. You can still see penguins here in fact many more. ...

    V&A Waterfront

Victoria & Alfred Hotel Waterfront, Breakwater Boulevard, Cape Town, South Africa
    4
    40 reviews

Everything in Cape Town was beautiful, and the V&A Waterfront is no exception. The downside is that it is oftentimes overrun with tourists, which is a bit annoying to say the least (even though I was one). The shoes here are pricier, so I wouldn't recommend getting any souvenirs here.

    Cape of Good Hope

    Cape Town, South Africa
    4.5
    28 reviews

Known as "The Castle" among locals, this old fort was built by the Dutch in the late 17th century by profiteers of the Dutch East India Company as a respite and replenishing place for sailors on their way to and from India. It costs about 30 Rand, maybe $5 bucks or so, and will take you a few hours to ...

    Cape of Good Hope Reserve

    Cape Town, South Africa
    4.5
    22 reviews

The Cape of Good Hope Reserve is large and we only had time to explore part of it. It include of course, Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, but also many small beaches and wilderness areas to explore. Other than the two obvious areas, we enjoyed driving around the park and stopped off at Buffels Bay on the ...

Camps Bay's largest beach has white sand, pounding waves, and a view of Lion's Head. The popular beach is lined with palm trees, and hip restaurants and nightlife spots are right across the street.

    Two Oceans Aquarium

V & A Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa

    17 reviews

I rank this aquarium up there with Monterey Bay and my boyfriend, who isn't a sentimental Californian, reckons that it is even better. The exhibits are all very well done and the facility is really nicely laid out. There is a fantastic shark tank and the seals provide seemingly endless entertainment. It's right there at the Waterfront so combining this ...

    Robben Island

Table Bay Harbor, Cape Town 8002 South Africa
    4
    18 reviews

This is an important and moving national monument to the barbarity of apartheid, but it is very badly run. You get less than two hours on the island and the tour is a frogmarch with 20 minutes spent buying ice cream. Plus while ex-prisoners running tours had value, the emphasis on resistance rather than how the prison functioned gave the ...

    Table Mountain National Park

    Cape Town, South Africa
    4.5
    11 reviews

The views from the top of Table Mountain are some of the best in the entire world. The gondola to the top is closed when the winds are high, so be sure to check before you leave and make sure it's running. Otherwise be prepared for a rigorous hike up to the top.

Kalk Bay is a bohemian and trendy suburb near Cape Town. It has a busy harbour and some lovely little shops and places to eat. Top of my list would be the Olympia Cafe and Deli for luxury eating, Kalkies for the best fish n chips in town and the Brass Bell for a good night in the pub with ...

The Victoria Wharf Mall is your usual upscale mall with nice restaurants, pricey shops, and a movie theater. There's plenty to do on the areas around the mall too.
