My mother once said, “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.” As such my review of the Caribe Internacional will be short. One good thing is that the lobby was air conditioned which offered a nice respite from the heat of mid-day Cancun. Once I had cooled down to a decent temperature a stoic fellow showed us a room. En route we were treated to some pretty cheesy Caribbean decor and a long haul up the staircase because the elevator was having issues. When we arrived at the room the gentleman was unable to open the door, more technical issues.
In the room the place looked clean enough but the beds looked horribly uncomfortable. On the bright side there was a nice pool and restaurant and a pretty decent view of downtown Cancun. But the real saving grace was that the Caribe had a bar, which you might find yourself parked in to forget the sleep you missed the previous night.

The green and white checkered linoleum led us through the hot open air lobby to the front desk. There was a simple lobby bar/restaurant and continued on to the back open centered area for more dining. I didn’t see any other American’s, and it appeared to be busy with local travelers. It also appeared to be an older property, but was clean enough which is important to me, personally. While standing outside our room fumbling with the key to get in I noticed a loud flushing toilet from somewhere above and heard the water rumble down the thin walls. Like I said, old, but once we got a key that worked, the room had a nice view of central downtown. Old furnishings and amenities, but served the purpose for the day.
