Carlsbad is a beautiful suburb of San Diego. You can beat the beaches and the crowds. Yes, it gets a bit busy during summer but nothing like closer to the city. Make sure to check out the Village if you like small little towns with local shops and local dining options. Carlsbad is becoming the best place in North County ...

I love Oceanside, but I gave it a three star rating because of all the work that's being done on the beach, and on the roads leading to the beach. It's a major hassle getting to and from the beach. It's better to frequent the restaurants, bars, stores in the Harborside area north of the Oceanside Pier.

A delightful, beautiful little seaside town between Encinitas and Solana Beach in San Diego. A quiet little road winds through some hillside neighborhoods and emerges on the coast, with swaying palm trees and happy locals trotting around with tanned skin and beaded flip-flops. The atmosphere is relaxed and quaint, a peaceful retreat from some of the more bustling and gritty ...

The city of San Marcos currently has 56 miles of trails that can be hiked or biked. One of the newest trails (a 5-mile round trip) takes you from Discovery Lake to the top of Double Peak. One can also drive up to the top to take in the spectacular view and enjoy the permanently installed telescope. On a clear ...

This is home to some of the wealthiest folks in the county. Gated communities with multi-million dollar mansions, lovely golf courses and still, close to Del Mar (the Beach). I was once given an opportunity to attend a party in one of these gated communities and was in shock at the wealth that was exuded within.

A great area to learn to surf, calm waves and long stretched of beach. The town itself is very health conscious and active and also full of great boutiques and spas.

The Oink & Moo is a little jem out here in Fallbrook. You can order ribs, pulled pork, brisket or any of their delicious burgers. I particularly like the Peanut Butter and Jelly burger with bacon but if u are feeling adventures you can order the burger with the game of the day like Ostrich, Bison, Kangaroo and a few ...

I have been to Camp Pendleton a number of times through the years. I have seen both good and bad as you find with any military installation. When I was a boy scout as a kid, we would come here to go camping and do some wilderness trips. Some of the most epic games of Capture the flag occurred in ...

Also known as "Ir-FINE", because of the beautiful ladies. Yes, I am talking about you. So can get all giggly and tell your friends. I highly recommend visiting UCI if this is your first time in Irvine. You experience a great view only second to UCLA. Before a start my review, I like to address the bad reviews. I understand ...

I like to call Costa Mesa the gateway to Newport Beach... The city has the South Coast Plaza an array of restaurants and generally is a good all around place to hang out. Costa Mesa is also the home of the Orange County Fairgrounds which hosts concerts, events and of course the fair in spring and summer.

La Jolla is absolutely gorgeous - high-end shopping, upscale residences, pristine beaches, and a thriving nightlife. Home to UCSD and a heavy population of college students, as well as a prominent marine research base, with aquariums, facilities, and vessels dedicated to the knowledge and education of marine life.

I've grown in and out of love with this surfer focused city. The beaches are great, but the town is a little shady. Tourists should head down Del Mar Street and finish off at the pier with apps at the Fishermans Grotto. (I believe that's the name.) The food isn't fantastic, but the view makes up for it.
