Carlsberg Brewery Tour

Ny Carlsberg Vej 100, 1760 Copenhagen, Denmark

Fun little tour, but the best part is the beer tasting at the end. They've got some HIGH-POWERED beers available, so if you're a lightweight like myself, plan to take it easy for an hour or so afterwards.

Best beer in Copenhagen. The location is small, so don't arrive too late. And just enjoy and's full of locals and it's the only place to enjoy an afternoon beer Friday.

This is my favorite park so far in Copenhagen...sure it's a little manicured what with man-made waterfalls and canal rides...but it's still a pretty serene place to just chill out. Nice little hill and an amazing array of birds to hang out with. Most of them are so used to the people that they pretty much are within arm's reach. ...

The absolute best place to buy non-standard beers in Copenhagen! They have beers from breweries from all over the world and the staff is interested and well informed.

Vega is an incredible music venue, and after living in a few other cities I realize how lucky the Copenhageners are to enjoy such a diversity of popular bands in a relatively intimate setting. Set in a converted worker's union, the building still features the original Art-Deco ornamentation. The opening acts are always great and the slightly retro bar is fine ...

A very relaxed cafe and bar. The people-watching is great on Sonder Boulevard and sun always seems to make a conveniently-timed appearance over the outdoor tables. I love the sweet take on taxidermy decorations in the bathroom...

A really great beer bar almost in the center of Copenhagen. Great selection of craft beers and they change it all the time! The staff is friendly and helpful.

Boutique Lize is a great cocktail bar in Vesterbro. Although the atmosphere is great, I never find enough people using the dance floor despite the very enthusiastic DJs. Otherwise it would be perfect.

    Malbeck Vinbar

0.72 mi from Carlsberg Brewery Tour
    1 review

Malbeck is a winebar with a special seating arrangement along one wall. You sit on large wooden steps facing the bar, which makes for wine-drinking in a more casual setting. The only drawback is the price - it's not cheap, but the imported wines are probably impossible to find anywhere else in Copenhagen.

Vinstue 90 is a good place for a more serious conversation. The crowd is a bit older, with more regulars, so it's got a slightly different character. They are famous for their "slow beer", which is drawn from the tap over 15 minutes for a smooth taste. (You can always get a normal beer while you wait!) Some customers smoke ...

Enghaven is quite a nice little park if you're in Vesterbro in the summertime. It's not very idyllic, but it does have a friendly crowd of families and young people, and the permanent barbecue is pretty convenient for going beyond the standard single-use grilled hot dogs.

Neat little museum dedicated to decorative glass artwork. Not sure I would put it on the top of my to do list, I visited it by chance. It is nice, and if you have some extra time in the Copenhagen area it is a nice place to visit.

When tourists think of Copenhagen, the two things that probably come to mind are The Little Mermaid and the postcard-looking Nyhavn. But despite being full of amateur photographers and overpriced restaurants, it is not as, well, touristy as you may think. Most of Copenhagen feels a lot like Amsterdam, Christiania actually behaves like it. Charming, distinct and a world unto itself. Kind of hippie commune of sorts.

When I first visited Denmark, the Little Mermaid statue was at the top of my list, because I knew that my mother visited it many years before. The large pedestrian only area is full of great shopping, restaurants and friendly bars as well as excellent people watching. Plan on half a day at least. We went in November and although it was cold, several pubs offered blankets and hot outdoor lamps to make sitting outside very enjoyable.
