It is a rare, rare occasion when I'll recommend a chain restaurant. Even then, I'll only recommend Il Fornaio about 20 weeks out of the year, but what 20 weeks they are. Every year, Il Fornaio does a 'passport' tasting tour of Italian regions. The head chefs visit the best restaurants in Tuscany, Sardinia, Liguria (home of pesto), etc and ...Popular withFoodiesVegetarianFamilies
this is the best bakery around carmel and a must stop for any trip there we make. just recently i called ahead of time to see if they could hold a dozen apricot thumbprint cookies for us to pick up that weekend. not only did they do that for me but they were freshly baked and gave a very generous ...

During a girlfriends' getaway, my friend insisted we visit the Tuck Box. I'd never heard of them in my previous Carmel visits, and not surprising. Unassuming at street level, charming Hobbit-like architecture above the pane windows. A lovely spot for tea, scones and sandwiches. Maybe someday I'll be there and get up early enough to try a breakfast.

Ahh Carmel-by-the-Sea, everyone there is so carefree, with no street numbers for anyone to see... Ever notice that the businesses on Ocean Ave in Carmel have no number address? Doesn't it make the life of a UPS guy kinda miserable? Well, fortunately, we stopped a UPS guy, who turned out to be friendly, for suggestions on good lunch spots. He ...
Incredible view, but the food was mediocre. Not tasty or even a hint of tasty. We're not price sensitive, but I will say for what we paid it was just not worth it. They try to position themselves as an upper-tier restaurant, but the food was just mid-tier non-tasty. Well, we just went there one time, so maybe we should ...Popular withFoodiesLuxury

Nice breakfast spot in Carmel
We just ate SO well! Cute place with a "Grandma's house" feel. Great brunch and service. Everything was tasty. Highly recommend any pancakes with berries in it (they sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top to mmmm), the benedicts, omlettes, potatoes, the fruit they give you is great as is the hot sauce! Will definitely come back.
This place is so awesome!!! You cannot beat getting a drink for a DIME exactly at 5pm. Those Jameson shot for a dime is so worth it, not to mention they offer other drinks too! Good place to get your drink on and watch sport. Also to dine in as well. What are you waiting for? Go here already!!!Popular withBudgetLocalFoodies
Edger’s Cafe at Quail Lodge overlooks the golf course and has a Japanese theme. I enjoyed a sweet pumpkin soup and their prime rib served with tasty mushrooms, green beans, and zucchini, although Travis’ grilled Ahi sandwich looked great as well.Popular withLuxuryWellnessFoodies

The historic Mission Ranch sits on 22 acres with spectacular views of Point Lobos, Carmel River Beach and the Pacific Ocean. This 1800’s ranch was preserved and restored by former Carmel Mayor, Clint Eastwood. A longtime Carmel resident, Clint Eastwood rescued this landmark resort from condo developers, and renovated the entire property to provide a unique resort experience. The Inn ...Popular withNightlifeFoodies
