Designed by one of the most celebrated sons of the Catalan Modernista movement, architect Lluis Domènech i Montaner (try saying that after a few Cavas), Casa Fuster scintillates like a 5-star film set on the doorstep of the boho Gràcia district. In fact, its ‘Viennese Café’ was the backdrop for a scene from Woody Allen’s ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’. The hotel is over 100 years old, but has been recently renovated, so you can soak up the sense of history while enjoying all the mod cons you’d expect from a top-of-the-range designer hotel.

The historic five star Casa Fuster hotel was originally built in 1908 by the Modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
The palatial building was originally a gift from a wealthy Mallorcan, Mariano Fuster, to his wife, Consuelo Fabra i Pui.
Café Vienés on the ground floor has long been a meeting place for Barcelona's high society. On Thursdays the café features live jazz and Woody Allen is known to haved played there when visiting.

This hotel stands alone like a crown atop the Las Rambles as one of the most quintessential Catalonian Architectural landmarks turned into a hotel. One of Spains biggest Architects Lluis Dominech was said to have even built that labor of Love in the eyes of Gaudi.
Atop it sits, or atop the rooftop you can sit, and overlook the entire city drinking the yummiest Sangria whilst swimming in the pool. The hotel is gorgeous, and the colors used are beautifully thematic and romantic. I want to fall in love all over again; from either screaming over the Juliet balconies in the bathroom, or the bordeaux mosaic finishes in the lobby. This hotel is FANTASTIC!

This hotel is really a unique treat. Nestled above the historic Passeig de Gracia, this emblematic building dating from the beginning of the century, remains faithful to its original old world style and charm while at the same time it offers super-modern facilities. Service is close to faultless and the rooms are right on the money. Both discreet and stylish, the Café Viennese is a magical space for a pleasurable sit-down. Although you’re close to downtown, Gracia is a lovely neighborhood slightly off the beaten tourist track with lots of restaurants and boutiques. This impressive marble display is a “one and only” place to stay.

The Hotel Fuster's elegant façade and interior, were constructed by the Catalan architect Domenech i Muntaner. The modernist building overlooks Passeig de Gracia and is only a few steps away from Barcelona's luxurious boutique shops. You can’t miss the opportunity to dine at the Marisquería o'Botafumeiro, possibly one of the best restaurants in Barcelona and only a five-minute walk from the hotel itself. The staff was welcoming and very helpful, making the stay even more pleasant. The only downside I can think of is that the rooms are a tad small. However, all in all, the hotel definitely lives up to its five star reputation and conveys the essence of Barcelona through its modernism, good taste and elegance.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers

You can’t help but feel important when you walk into Casa Fuster. Not only because during his stay, Woody Allen played live jazz in the hotel’s Vienes Café, while filming Vicky Cristina Barcelona, but because from the second you walk into the lobby the staff are at your service; friendly, attentive and always going out of their way to ensure your stay is comfortable. Designed by the famous Catalan architect, Lluis Domenech i Montaner, the hotel’s been newly restored and has become a Barcelona landmark. Ideally located on the edge of the Eixample and the trendy Gracia neighbourhoods, it’s easy to walk pretty much anywhere in the city and come home at the end of the day to relish in a lap of luxury. Check out Thursday nights at Vienes Café, as even if Woody Allen’s not in town there are still weekly jazz nights. And if the hotel isn’t at full capacity see about a possible upgrade, as there’s always a chance to switch (for a small difference) from a Standard room to the Superior or Deluxe, if there’s one available.
