Catalina Casino is an iconic landmark in the City of Avalon on Catalina Island. Still in remarkable shape despite being over 80 years old! The structure is the first most noticeable building when you arrive to Avalon via boat. Construction was funded by Wrigley, the father of chewing gums. The casino is famous for its huge ballroom as well as a small museum of Catalina Island in the back. There's also a nice theater inside, which was considered high-tech back in the days. So if you heading to Avalon, it's definitely worth it to check out this historic landmark!

The Casino Ballroom can be seen daily by taking a tour or during events like the Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival. The tour is great and you will learn lots about Catalina Island and its history on this tour. This is one of the largest circular ballrooms in the West. The Casino, an Italian word for public meeting place-there has never been gambling here, was designed by John Gabriel Beckman after he finished the Chinese Grauman Theater in Hollywood. It's Art Deco style is amazing! You can learn much more about his art here- http://www.catalinamuseum.org. This tour gets you on the second floor of the Casino that has amazing views over Avalon Harbor as well.

Spot this domelike building right when you dock.
Features music festivals like Jazztrax and other various theatrical productions. Rent a golf cart so you can drive to and from this epicenter -- or you prefer, easiest would be to walk.
