The hotel Castex is cute and comfortable, while managing to be elegant. It’s décor is understated with wood paneling and a 17th century feel. The rooms are soothing and plush and there is a small patio in the back of the hotel to relax on. Hotel Castex is also extremely well located, in a quiet street between the Marais and Place de la Bastille, right in central Paris.

Castex hotel is located on a side street right near Place de la Bastille, which makes it a great base for exploring the rest of Paris. The surrounding area is full of restaurants, markets, cafés, bars, nightclubs and the famous Opéra Bastille.
This charming hotel feels more like a bed and breakfast as guests are greeted with the words « welcome home » upon entering. The rooms are all decorated in a traditional French style with wrought iron light fixtures and mirrors and neutral patterned fabrics. Some bathrooms have large bathtubs and toiletries and hairdryers are provided.
The lobby area is equally elegant with a wrought iron chandelier and wall tapestries as is the breakfast room downstairs. This 3 star hotel is great choice for those of you who appreciate excellent customer service (a guestbook in the lobby is full of positive reviews) at a reasonable price.

Hotel Castex is a charming three-star hotel in Bastille area. It takes only a few minutes to walk from metro to this quiet side street, and there are lots of bars and restaurants in this area, especially on Rue de la Roquette and Rue de Lappe.
The hotel has a rustic, French countryside vibe going on, which is not at all bad. Rooms are quite small, as usual in Paris, but they are clean and well maintained and decorated in the 17th century style. The breakfast room is delightfully decorated with old brick walls, and there is a little courtyard patio, where you can have breakfast in the summer. I'd definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a unique, good quality tourist hotel.

This is a small hotel close to Place de la Bastille which makes it easy to find from the Metro. The room was clean and comfortable and facing an indoor courtyard very quiet. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. We had their breakfast and it turned out very good. Given the location and nice rooms we recommend this place.
