Beloved as the go-to spot for Sydney's runners, walkers, cyclists and equestrians, you don't have to venture far in from the paved oval that runs around the park perimeter to find a bit of natural beauty. With palm-lined tracks and placid, reed-fringed lakes, it's a gorgeous spot for a wander -- open space that's the silver lining to Sydney's sometimes relentless sprawl.

Sundays are all about Centennial Park, any given Sunday you'll see the well disciplined out and about running, on their bikes and enjoying the park. Personally I prefer Centennial Park at night, can't beat the Summer months when Moonlight Cinema is on but every now and again I'll venture out in the am for a relaxing Sunday stroll. Great if you have dogs or if you want to play with other peoples dogs.

This is one of my places to bike, walk or just picnic by the water. There are beautiful black swans, kiosks selling ice cream and drinks, and flowering gardens everywhere. Summer days in Sydney are not complete without an evening of watching a film under the stars!
