I once had an opportunity to see Central Park from one of the skyscrapers on the edge of the park and wow! It's amazing to see with all these tall buildings around the outside a massive park just cut right into the center of the city. They also still offer traditional horse and carriage rides around the park area.

Who doesn't love Central Park? It's the best place to escape from the busy streets and crowded tourist attractions in the City. My Highlight: Go for a run.

I love being able to be in a city but have an oasis of green. Central Park is exactly that and a little more. Hidden gems like the Balto or Alice in Wonderland statues are sure to amuse kids of all ages.

The Boathouse Cafe on the lake is a great place for lunch in hte middle of the Park near 72 Stand you can rent bikes nearby to explore further.

Beautiful sanctuary in the heart of the always-busy Manhattan. Once we reached Central Park, the amount of people seems to melt away and peace and quiet can be found. There are many things to do in the Central park, including a skating rink in the winter, the Central Park zoo, carriage rides that takes you around the park or just simply a casual stroll on foot or bike. It's arguable one of the best city parks.

This beautiful space is a nice break from the city. I was actually surprised at its size The first time I visited, with great trails and interesting places tucked in.

Central Park sets New York apart from every other city. Magical. Hire a row boat and bob about the lake with the ducks and terrapins with the skyline in the distance.

Busy busy busy area. Stayed in a hotel at the southern part of the park. Ran at least 3-4 times in less than a week. Always an integral part when visiting NY.

I've only been to Manhattan once and most of my time was spent in Central Park. My absolute favorite spot was the John Lennon Memorial. I got my picture taken there and immediately had goosebumps..

Description:

Manhattan's great green heart is an oasis of recreation and the natural world in the sea of skyscrapers and urban landscape stretching from Midtown to Harlem. New York City's best known park is a favorite for residents of the Big Apple and visitors alike, seeking open space to jog, bike, roller blade, frisbee or simply lay down a blanket for a weekend picnic. Explore the Belvedere Castle, wish for good luck at the Bethseda Fountain on Bethseda Terrace, or takes the kids to the Zoo at the Central Park Conservancy. Evening visitors may find romance ignite with a horse-drawn carriage ride in and around the Park.
