It is very famous, and you will probably want to put it on your list of things to do. I found the changing of the guards a bit on the tedious side, but the pageantry and the view of Buckingham palace are interesting

I have to say this was one of my favorite things in London. There is a huge parade/processional. The Royal band plays a few songs. After that they go through whole changing of the guards. Make sure you see it. I believe it is only done twice a week or something.

your likely not to get a good picture next to the guards if you are in the front of the palace, so i recommend heading towards buckingham through the back way. You will get to see the changing of the guard and be able to take funny pictures with them up close!
