I believe the changing of the guards happens once every hour. Lots of people come to watch, and I had the opportunity to watch a few times. It's interesting the first few times, but afterwards, it becomes more of a historical moment where you realize that this is a part of Taiwan's history.

Fun to watch - very much like the guards in London.

Description

If you are planning to visit Taipei City in Taiwan, you must check out the changing of the guard ceremony at the Martyr’s Shrine. This shrine is built as a monument to the memory of the brave soldiers who fought bravely for the country in the war against Japan. The artistry that is behind the construction of the shrine showcases Chinese architecture at its best. The changing of the guards that takes place at every hour is a spectacle that is thoroughly enjoyed by the tourists who frequent the location. As the admission to the shrine is free, you can visit the location without any associated expenses.
