The river is a bit dirty, but still I enjoyed the views over the city. Getting to other areas rather than the modern hotels skyline, looking at how a lot of people actually live in the city, small wooden houses, full of flower pots outside. Liked it!Recommended for:

A public boat ride is one of the best ways to experience Bangkok like a local. Taking the public boat with the monks, locals and tourists makes this an interesting experience, plus it's cheaper, easier and faster to get to places and attractions. We even spoke to the Thai lady next to us who told us she was on her way to the hospital for her medical appointment!
Different boat lines are indicated by different flag colours on top of the boat. The orange flag line covers most of the major sights along the river. Tickets are sold manually on the boat. The boats run every 5-20 mins roughly from 0600 - 1900.
