Living on Maui's North Shore for 13 years, I have to admit that I've been here at least a 100 times. And every time I go, I always ask myself why! Well, Charley's has one of the only nightlife scenes on the north shore and from time to time pretty incredible live music comes to town. So that's the plus side and then it's worth it to hang out in the most unattractive space and put up with the rude staff. I can see why this is a popular breakfast spot, but for me, it feels like the kind of place you go when you have a hangover. Also, I don't think Willie has much to do with this place anymore. From time to time, he does perform there and then its completely worth a trip.Recommended for:

This is a great place for breakfast lunch or dinner on the North Shore of Maui. If you're in Paia, this is definitely one of the best places to hit up. There is usually live music at night and one of the only local scenes on the North Shore after dark.

Been here once and didn't care for it. We were however, with a very large group and one of the wait staff had called in sick so we only had one gal waiting on about 40 of us. That being said, we weren't pleased with the food either. Probably wont go back?

Charley’s is a fun restaurant & saloon in the old town of Paia. Clearly, it’s Willie Nelson’s favorite drinking hole as his photos and memorabilia are plastered all over their walls (he has a home in Paia). While we were only there for drinks, their food looked quite good – they offer a variety of American favorites and it seemed like their pizzas are popular. There’s a billiard table in the back on top of the stage and it’s a popular spot to catch live bands late night.
