Located on the North (Atlantic) side of the island, Magens Bay features a well-protected white sand beach stretching for nearly three quarters of a mile. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the island, as well as a gathering place for locals. The beach sits at the head of a deep bay, the arms of which are ...

    Mahogany Run Golf Course

Not being golfer didn't keep me away. The Mahogany Run Grille offers a nice meal at a very reasonable price. I've dined there a few times and have not been disappointed. Save room for the Creme Brulee.

Wonderful view of the whole north side of St Thomas as well as down island view to St John and the British Virgin islands. A very good place to pick up a reasonably priced souvenir for those left at home. The banana daiquiris are ok and worth splitting one just to say you had it.

This mall is in a strategic position, very close to where the big cruise boats arrive, so not very interesting in my opinion when it is crowded. However I visited it during a calm day and could see how beautiful the shops are. Obviously only famous and expensive brands.

Right on Main St. in the tourist shopping area, this old house shelters courtyards, stairways and nooks in quiet serenity. Pissarro left St. Thomas as a young man and became famous as a member of the French Inpressionist movemnt with Moliere, Monet, Cezanne, etc. Often listed as "French", Pissarro was actually a Dane (Danish Colonial Sephardic). This fellow was a ...

Dark red and forbidding, this 1600's Danish fort was the center of the Danish West Indies for 200 years. In the 1950's, it housed the Police, Fire Department, Motor Vehicle Division and city/county jail. The fort entrance sits on a hill overlooking Emancipation Park, the Grand Hotel and the Waterfront and the cops would sit in folding chairs on the ...

This is NOT The Virgin Islands Government House. Looks like Milano to me. VI Govt' house is quite a bit smaller with a narrow street in front (Kongen's Gade) There is also a Royal Danish guardhouse, manned most of the time with a pith-helmeted soldier. That is where the Governor lives, while the VI Legislature meets in the big green ...
