    Dabbous

    2 reviews

One of London's hottest restaurants right now - and correspondingly one of the hardest to get a table at (the waiting list is currently around six months). Chef Ollie Dabbous cut his teeth with Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir and has also done stints at L’Astrance, Hibiscus, Texture, Noma and The Fat Duck. The molecular gastronomy influences of El Bulli ...

My favorite restaurant in London, hands down. Every dish is beautifully presented and very tasty. The atmosphere is super hip, with high ceilings, lacquered wood and lighting that makes it feel intimate even when the place is packed. And the cocktails are great as well. Definitely get a reservation, though, as they fill up weeks in advance.

Visiting from NYC, we have our fair share of Thai. This was so good, I think we came back about 3 times on our trip! Everything we had was amazing, very cozy place with community tables. Must visit!

The best Japanese BBQ restaurant I've been to. They make your food in front of you (not hibachi style though) and the best is the fish - I think sea bass. It's expensive so you need to really choose things that are worth the price.

    Byron Burger - Rathbone

0.14 mi from Charlotte Street Hotel
    4 reviews

Byron is a unique burger chain where the owners are buying out historic pubs and converting them into high end burger chains. I had a grilled portobello mushroom burger which was really tasty - came topped with a fat slice of melted bree. Yum. Fries were great as well.

Vegetarians and low-fat devotees need not visit. This Argentine steak house (a small chain, mostly based in London) has over a dozen different types of steaks and cuts, along with all things South American and beef-related: empanadas, ceviche, etc. Be warned: It's about £100 per person, minimum, and the noise levels are high.

Might be the place that turned me onto tapas. The space is nice - try to sit on the main floor, not downstairs - and the food is simple, straight forward with good variety. It's close to the office and is also a great place for a glass of wine and a bite before a full dinner.

One of many smallish Thai restaurants on Charlotte street. Curries are good and the portions are large, but there's not much seating. Try to arrive early for lunch.

Archipelago is a exotic food restaurant. It is a really cool little set up, from outside you probably wouldn't look twice at the little doorway, but once you get inside it is really cool. The restaurant uses a password system for reservations, which is really unique, and everything is done to fit in with the exotic theme. It's a little ...

    Berners Tavern

The name includes Tavern so I thought pub. Berners Tavern is a far cry from a pub. The look is upscale as is the menu. The location near the British Museum off of Oxford Street is central. The food, contemporary British, was good and service excellent.

A Fitzrovia institution which remains reassurigly stuck in its own time tunnel, probably somewhere between 1962-1975. A good range of mostly Italian deli produce, tasty sandwiches and great coffee. When the weather is warmer, a few tables outside to watch the world pass by.
