From caged, exotic animals to the bags they're inevitably turned into, this market has it all. It only runs on the weekends, and during the holidays it's especially crowded. Brace yourselves for the crowds, heat and loads of STUFF. If you're looking for ANYTHING I would save your time (and money) on places like Khao San and Siam. While your purchases aren't going to be as high quality as what you might buy at designer stores in the mall, it's still fun to purchase 'authentic Thai goods.' And even if you're not into shopping the market itself is a site to see. So grab a cold beverage and let the shopping (or browsing) commence!

A great place to visit and explore Bangkok's markets, whether as a tourist or as a resident. Lots to see, and buy. Colourful. But can be hot, crowded and a bit disorganised.

A flea market/shopping bazaar mecca to find everything from souvenirs, clothing, household items, even exotic pets.

Outdoors (though there is an indoor market with similar items) so it can be unbearably hot if you go during the wrong part of the year. Have a set plan of what you want to buy or expect to get lost and be there for an entire day deciding on things to buy.

A MUST VISIT! It is my second favorite place to shop at! Shopping is good as they provide a fair range of both female and male apparels. They carries a lot of things from your household needs, decorations, fashion apparels, accessories and lots of yummy food! There is one stall that sell beef ball soup noodles and it's really good! I normally go there during the morning, shop a bit then i'll have lunch and then continue shopping!!!

Tops and dresses from 100 baht (which is like SGD $4!)
And the food is really cheap and nice too.

This market, size of a huge football stadium or bigger, sells almost everything from puppies to carpets to accessories! Be prepared and put lots of sunscreen, it gets hot. The coconut ice cream helps, comes with unlimited coconut water too.

Chatuchak, also called C2C, is a biggest flea market in Bangkok. They said weeekend are busy but from my experience it is busy throughout all day and night. I think it has a store for just about anything you're looking for.

THE thing to do in Bangkok, IMO. Largest weekend market in BKK, filled with everyone and anything you might need: from kitchen-ware to tank tops to puppies - everything is at this market. Allow a few hours to explore the vastness of the market, but if you see something you like get it, because chances are you will not be able to find the same stall twice!

If you're spending the weekend in Bangkok do this: take the BTS to Mo Chit or the MRT to Chatuchak Park. Once you get off the train, just follow the crowd and you'll find yourself in Chatuchak Weekend Market.

    What to look for:
    1. The flare-tending barista(?) at the milk tea booth near the entrance from the MRT. Good show, refreshing iced milk tea.
    2. The lane that houses the shops of budding Thai designers. Good quality clothes, bags and accessories, good price.

Great place to people watch, shop and eat. Keep an eye out for the mean looking woman who sells squirrels in tiny costumes.

this market offers many ethnic stuff with good quality. the fun thing about this place, you can always bargain..so the tips..dont hesitate to say your price..every time they gives you the price, you bargain half of the price at first. if you are lucky you will get that price.

don't forget to taste the ice Thai tea..at the corner of the market, near the main entrance. taste slurrrppphhhh fresh!!

A sprawling market you can spend the entire day there. Great place to shop for modern homewares and furniture at very reasonable price. Bring lots of water, it's very hot inside!

a great market in bangkok. Alot of tourist come through these markets so the sales people know that they can charge abit more. A great shopping experience that will test your ability to haggle with a calculator.

Description

Welcoming upwards of 200,000 visitors each weekend, the Chatuchak Weekend Market (located adjacent to the Skytrain Kamphaengpecth Station) is a must-see during any visit to Bangkok. Each weekend, more than 5,000 vendors come to Chatuchak to haggle over nearly everything under the sun: from clothing to antiques, house wares, groceries and exotic pets. Come to eat, come to shop and come prepared to ... read more
bargain, since none of the prices are fixed. Even more importantly, come prepared to get lost because the 35 square acre market is big; getting turned around or distracted by the excitement and chaos is common here.
