Feeling more like a countryside bed and breakfast than a hotel in the big city, this quaint house offers single and double rooms decorated with homey quilts and plenty of floral patterns. Located right by Union Square, Chelsea, and the Meatpacking District, you can't ask for a better neighborhood. Friendly staff presents old fashioned keys to open your door in this elevator-less property, and rooms are not cramped, offering privacy from other visitors. Bathrooms are clean and shared with only a few guests, generally friendly in these homestyle accommodations. Rooms are cleaned by staff daily and offer a home away from home without breaking the bank.

You're right in the middle of Chelsea and a short walk away from a lot of great neighborhoods. The rooms are simple, but they provide the basic necessities and a little bit of exercise (this European-inspired hotel doesn't have an elevator, so be prepared to walk up a flight or two unless you request the first floor rooms). There is a lot of fun spots nearby where you snatch up some local produce at the Union Square Farmer Markets, eat at the very popular Union Square Cafe or walk down and see the Empire State Building, West Village neighborhood or Chelsea Market. All around you are shops and restaurants making this hotel a great destination that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

When I was living in New York, this is where I'd tell people to stay. Under $150 a night for a great location in NYC, independently owned, and plenty of historic character.

Been here for a couple of nights. Service is great, also the rooms are pretty clean, you won't need more than that if you just need a place to lay your head down.
