One of the factors that tends to scare people away from the Northern Lights trek
is the bitter cold. So where better to enjoy the show than a luxurious hot spring? Chena Resort in Alaska offers cozy soaks in their natural hot springs and even an Aurora alarm system throughout the resort to tell you when to grab your cameras.

you can sit in the Hot Springs, indoor/outdoor pools or chill in hot spring pond and watch the Northern Lights during the winter time. they also enough visitors to explore the walking/hiking trials. you never know what you might see.

This place is great to go to with friends or a romantic anniversary.
It is almost towards the middle of nowhere and doesn't have many carriers available. Expect to be stranded and one with nature!
I came here for my birthday during snow fall and it was absolute heaven.
I would give it 5 stars but the rooms aren't that great.
There is SO much to do in this location.
- hot springs surrounded by gorgeous snow capped mountains (in the winter)
- ice bar with martini glass made out of ice!
- trails to walk
and the best part…
a viewing outlook house for the AURORA BOREALIS!!! A MUST. Definitely go during high season.
I highly recommend coming here during peak seasons in the winter.

Very nice drive to the Chena Hot Springs, a must do attraction while in the area, go out and soak in the outdoor pool while viewing the auroras, during early morning 8am - 11am, or evening 4pm - 12midnight or later. While there, visit the Ice Hotel; inside all made from ice. Or just go during the day (one hour drive) for a beautiful Winter drive and eat at their wonderful restaurant with all the Alaskan favorites!
